Chris
Sanders has moved to DreamWorks Animation after being replaced by John Lasseter as the director of American Dog.
He will direct the upcoming film Crood Awakening, which has become a DreamWorks production since the Aardman
split.

Heh – yeah, I heard about this shortly after Chris Sanders “ran away” from the
Disney department. Perhaps he’ll be able to boost up DreamWorks’ “metabolism” with his fine story
skills… (snigger)
This is a really interesting story! 
I’ve always loved Chris Sander’s work, he’s got a great imagination. In fact I was actually on the
other side of Lasseter vs. Sanders conflict. I think Lasseter is doing some great things at WDFA, but he should
have let the director that brought Disney’s really only major recent success kinda "do what he
wants"…
I thought Crood Awakening was a Aardman project (even after
the split) so this came as a suprise to me…I think it’ll work out great, though. It sounds like a very
interesting movie.
ah man, what a waste - I hope Dreamworks don’t do with him what they did with Aardman!
