Do you celebrate Christmas?
Not in the strictest sense, since none of my family members are Christians. We used to when my siblings and I were kids, my dad would play Christmas jingles in our car and we would set up a Christmas tree, send greeting cards and hampers to friends, stuff like that. I have never eaten a traditional Christmas meal or remember receiving Christmas gifts (although I may have when I was little, I’m not sure). Nowadays, we send out e-mails at most to our friends and go somewhere nice for a family outing on Christmas.

What do you like and dislike Christmas?
I love the decorations along Orchard Road (Singapore’s main shopping district) and the various Christmas book, movies and song tie-ins. The general atmosphere of celebration and good cheer. The things I dislike are the crowds, and the commercialization of what once used to be a festival about the spirit of goodwill and peace. There are many forms of “giving” that does not have to involve material presents. It could be time spent with loved ones, or a kind greeting to a stranger. Why leave it to one day of the year to be nice to everyone?

Favourite Christmas foods?

I don’t eat much Christmas food, but I like turkey, cookies, chocolate, and pudding anytime of the year. I dislike candy canes and eggnog, though. Yule log sounds good though.

And fav Christmas activities?
Taking pictures with my family along Orchard Road. Visiting long-lost friends in Malaysia and Singapore. Shopping and getting Christmas discounts. Watching Christmas movies and shows on TV.

How will you celebrate Christmas this year?
I don’t know what my family has planned… maybe we’ll go out and do something fun like watch a movie or go sightseeing or something. Or we could just stay at home and laze around. Depends, they’re kinda laissez-faire about it.

What are your fav Christmas carols/songs?

Let it Snow (end credits of Die Hard)
I’m dreaming of a white christmas (the lazy drawl is hynotic)
Rudolf the Red-nosed reindeer (for the good moral message)

And your fav Christmas movies?
Die Hard
Nightmare Before Christmas
Joyeaux Noel

My parents don’t believe in giving gifts for Christmas since “we don’t celebrate it” and to save the money, :frowning: so I may not receive this in the near future, but anyway, I hope to get:

Any one Wall-E related merchandise (I saw a $10 poster and a mousepad of indeterminate value at a film merch store)

The most they’ll do is give us a few bucks to spend on pirated DVDs or games in those shady illegal stores in Penang, so I guess that’s my Xmas gift then… in that case I think I’ll be getting Fallout 3 and a racing title… pretty pathetic, but hey, they’re my old folks, you gotta appreciate the kind gesture.

:stuck_out_tongue:

Rachel: Mac Headsets are all I really want. x) Two, so my brother and I can make our commentaries. And so I can talk on Skype.

I also want a laptop but that’s a given since it’s highly recommended for the DCP.

Do you celebrate Christmas?
Heck yeah I do! I also celebrate Chanukah. My mom’s side of the family is Catholic, my dad’s side is Jewish.

What do you like and dislike about Christmas?
I’m not a huge fan of big family gatherings. They’re awkward.
Every Christmas, I wake up in the middle of the night to see what Santa brought me, then when I go downstairs with my family in the morning, I act suprised when I see everything. I’ve been doing it since I was about five, everyone knows I’ve already seen everything, but I still like doing it. I’ve also told my parents that I expect Santa to come until I have my own children.
On another note, I am in love with December, preceding Christmas. Lights, cookies, songs, I just love the season. I strung up lights in my car =P

Favourite Christmas foods?
Candy canes, red and green candies, excessive chocolates, and cookies!

And fav Christmas activities?
Singing Christmas carols at the top of my lungs. Going to see my mom and brother dance in the Nutcracker.

How will you celebrate Christmas this year?
Thank goodness we aren’t having a big family gathering this Christmas. After opening presents in the morning, my whole family is going to volunteer serving meals to homeless people, and then we’re going to see Marley and Me.

What are you fav Christmas carols/songs?
Oh dear goodness I love them all! Anything by Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, or Bing Crosby makes me so happy. Yeah, I fit right in at my grandma’s Christmas party at her cardiac rehab center. I know all the words to any Christmas carol you could think of, and then some. As much of a sucker as I am for the oldies, Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas Is You is pretty darn good!

Mickey’s Christmas Carol Sing Along
For sure.

Do you celebrate Christmas?
Yes, but I’m not Christian. I’ve never really seen it as a religious holiday, anyway.

“Sleigh Ride,” “The Christmas Song,” “All I Want for Christmas Is You” (guilty pleasure!), and the classics (Perry Como, Andy Williams, etc.).

Do you celebrate Christmas?

What do you like and dislike about Christmas?
I like that special feeling that Christmas brings, of course I like getting presents, but I also like the little things like decorating and baking cookies.

i hate annoying Christmas songs and I hate the fact that Christmas starts on Nov 1 nowadays. Actually even sooner! I have a really hard time with seeing Christmas stuff before Halloween!!! But geez, if it wasnt for Halloween, who knows how soon Christmas would start?

Favourite Christmas foods?
My mom’s homemade cinnamon rolls, and her Tree and Wreath cookies!

And fav Christmas activities?
Baking cookies, decorating, watching Christmas movies and playing music.
