Cloudy 2: Revenge of the Leftovers

Actually looks okay-ish.

The first movie was a pleasant surprise for me- I thought it looked kind of stupid in the adverts but it was actually quite funny and cute. So I’m trying to reserve judgement on this one.

I do like that they’re not rehashing the plot of the first one- I’d be kind of annoyed if they did another ‘he makes a cool machine, things go wrong’ story again. I glad that this kind of elaborates on the aftermath of the first movie. I really like how cartoony and colourful it is- it’s distinctive from other CGI movies at the moment. And I’m glad that Sam kept her glasses

Im over the top excited for this. I LOVE the book and the first movie was amazing (to me anyway)
I know a lot of people were upset because it “wasnt like the book”
This is one of my fave films! So im ready to see this sequel, even if we dont really need one.

Ah, the Cloudy films! Where do I begin? OK, so I literally saw the first film the Sunday before the second film’s release. And uh… I absolutely loved it! This past Tuesday I saw the second installment, and yeah, I loved it, too! Let me try and be a bit more specific about my feelings for it, though. I remember being incredibly excited for the first one when it came out in '09, but I didn’t manage to see it in theaters, and somehow I lost interest in it for years. And while seeing the trailer (on every single animated film I’ve seen this year) for the sequel got me interested again, I still felt like the chances of me seeing the films weren’t too high, considering how many other movies were coming out that I wanted to see. Buuuut thennnn the first came on TV, and I decided to watch it… and oh, wow… I am so glad I did! The Cloudy films are, in my opinion, the very best of Sony’s animated films! I love Surf’s Up and the Open Season trilogy as well, but this was so different, so funny, so heartwarming, so delightfully weirdly wonderful! And I mean that in the best way! And the sequel… gosh, it was exactly as wonderful as the first! I could geek out over them for hours, so maybe I’ll just write up a review sometime soon. But if you haven’t seen them, go and watch them… I think you’ll love 'em… I know they’ve both become favorites!

I’m still interested in seeing this if anything because the first movie was enjoyable and I reeeeally dig the cartoony movement of the characters. I’m glad you liked it OWP!
