They’ve been sold out for months.

I know a couple of friends that have attended Comic Cons in the past and this years. It is right in my home city, but I never even went to one. I must feel stupid.

One of my favorite artists on dA, =cloudbabykc, is at ComicCon right now… and she got to have some of her work critiqued by some famous cartoonists! (All of whom I can’t remember the names of now. You can read her journal entry about it by clicking on that link.) I’m so happy for her… she’s such a sweet girl and talented artist, and I wish I could have gone to ComicCon so I could meet her there. :frowning:

Oookay… I guess we can use this thread to discuss updates from Comic Con then.

Here’s a video of a meeting that should be of interest to all of us. Two of the greatest minds in Animation from the East and the West have met just a few hours ago, none other than Mr Miyazaki and Mr Lasseter! This is beyawesome, they look so dapper in their suits. They were at the panel to discuss and promote the release of Ponyo in US cinemas.

Cinema Blend has kindly posted a ten-minute clip of their encounter. Even at such a late age, Mr Miyazaki proves he still possesses a quick and witty mind, and Mr Lasseter as usual is his bubbly, cheerful self gushing as a self-professed fan of Mr Miyazaki. You do not want to miss this.

Oh, and let me tell you, that the clip they were about to show after the footage ends was amazing. One of the more beautiful sequences from the film.

Comic Con: John Lasseter and Hayao Miyazaki

Ahh Comic Con. This year would have been a great year to go. Actually, i think any year would probably be a great year to go. I totally would if I had the money! But I’ve made it a life’s goal of mine, to get there at least once…
