Computed animated Dreamworks in order of preference

Since we have a Pixar one elsewhere…

Because Dreamworks seems to have more freedom, it seems they produce a vast array of films of varying quality. Even I’ll admit this as someone who hasn’t been blown away by every single one of Pixar’s films. I personally see this is a good thing overall however (Dreamworks freedom), and I am willing to put up with the odd shark tale here and there if something like in my top three films also gets produced. You sometimes have to take the costs as well as the benefits of more creative freedom after all!

So rank your dreamworks features in order of preference! Here is my list so far:

  1. Megamind
  2. HTTYD
  3. Kung Fu Panda
  4. Shrek 1
  5. Shrek 2
  6. Madagascar
  7. Shrek 4

  8. Shrek 3 (uuuugggh)
  9. Bee movie
  10. Shark Tale

I more or less left out antz because it’s been so long since I’ve seen it, but from what I remember of it I think it would be somewhere in the higher middle. I think. Maybe. (Note to self- someday watch it again). In any case rank the dreamworks computer animated features in order of your personal preference.

I haven’t seen Megamind, yet, either and everything else is not worth watching, in my opinion.

I made my own little categories for each tier of films in order of their greatness/awfulness.

YAY

  1. Shrek (you know, it’s really hard for me to rate this film, because I’ve gotten so used to every line and expression in the film, but it’s still pretty great. I also remember loving it when it first came out.)
  2. How to Train Your Dragon
  3. Kung Fu Panda

A LITTLE BETTER THAN OKAY
4. Megamind (even I’m surprised by this one…)
5. Antz
6. Shrek 2
7. Over the Hedge

…OKAAAAY…
8. Bee Movie
9. Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa
10. Monsters vs. Aliens

NO. WHY?
11. Madagascar
12. Shrek the Third/Shrek Forever After (really don’t have a preference here)

And I’m most definitely not going to include Aardman films in that list.

The rest were really forgettable for me. I still have to watch Megamind and Monsters Vs. Aliens though.

I LOVE The Prince of Egypt!! But, like she said, it’s traditional.

I liked the first two, but now, I despise the series so much I find it hard to enmjoy even the better ones. :frowning:

My sister loves the Prince of Egypt, I remember she used to sing the songs from it randomly. She’s a weird kid. Lol :stuck_out_tongue: But I do agree the Prince of Egypt is a great film but a lot of people don’t put it with the other Dreamworks films because it’s not CG. I think it’s better than most Dreamworks films they should try more tradition animation.

  1. Over the Hedge- It made me laugh once or twice, but I still didn’t like it.
  2. Madagascar- thumbs down

I know, I know. I’ve only seen 2. Actually, I’ve seen 3. But I don’t remember Antz at all.
I might try another one out sometime soon, though.
