Yep, it’s true, was his last show tonight. He was fired by NBC/Disney for running this ‘gag’:
I doubt he was fired for that.
Oh, please. He’s done far worse than that.
I dare say… He wasn’t even fired!
He’s stopping his normal show Late Night, filmed in New York, to go to LA, where he is taking over the Tonight Show in June…
So I don’t think NBC fired him… as re-locating from one NBC late night program to replace Leno on the slightly earlier late night NBC program in June.
Um, first of all, I thought it was common knowledge by now that Conan left his show to take over the Tonight Show (which I’m a little miffed about because I’ll really miss him doing Late Night). This was announced, like, 5 years ago. Secondly, I thought that WALL-E bit was pretty funny. Unless you were joking when you said NBC/Disney fired him. (which doesnt make much sense since NBC is with Universal, not Disney) Sorry if I’m coming off a little strong, but I’m not really sure what yer tone is here.
recovers from mini heart-attack after seeing thread title
I actually found that clip quite funny. And it’s not a bad way for the movie to get promotion, either. I hope Conan takes over the Walker lever to his new show.
A gag deserves a gag. Too bad it was moved to Off-Topic, as it sure seems to involve our little yellow friend. The point was to have the observer largely clueless, and hopefully most folks here are young enough not to have a real heart attack. Merely saying “Wall-E on Conan” just wasn’t as interesting. I would guess that most of the 90+ viewers so far got the gag.
Did you get the voices at the end? Remember where they come from?
Hopefully one day, Wall-E himself will make an appearance on that show, but not as a guest… He would have to use a hand held mini-chalkboard to talk to his guests: Howard Stern and Jim Carey.
Ahh…okay
I get it now. Bravo, you got me! ![]()
I almost did too!!! Thank goodness it’s really just a typical silly Conan clip ![]()
I’ll miss him on Late Night but I’m sure he’ll do the Tonight Show justice
So, no one here on this forum has figured out where the voices(s) announcing “Sorry Kids, Wall-E is dead” come from? Hmmm…? Hard to believe.
DarkHandOfSigourneyWeaver - I have no idea where that voice is from… care to enlighten me?
Actually, I suppose I can hear a bit of resemblance between that voice and the little green aliens in Toy Story - is that what you meant?
Edited. I combined both of your posts. – Mitch
Sounds just like any Vocoder to me. Any hints?
…not that I think that is a very funny joke. yawn
I don’t know who Conan O’Brien is, so I thought someone had actually died.
Was he the guy at the end of the clip?
I’m with Rachel on this one, it really sounds like the LGMs.
Yep, that’s who Cones is. He’s a late night talk show host, and one of my fav people.
I always enjoyed ending my day with a little Conan. Well, a lot of Conan, as he’s like 6 foot 4.
Since this is in the off-topic now, I suppose it would be alright to post this link, of Conan’s visit to the Detroit Auto Show…

Yeah Conan was always funny, especially as he was so tall and he’d always mention that fact. I always liked the Walker lever and ‘If They Mated’.
Oh, both posts combined, that makes sense now. Yeah, it’s the voices of the PixarPlanet mascots! Shame on you guys who didn’t know. Well, at least that’s my theory, they do indeed sound like little things, aliens or perhaps chipmunks. Since it’s outer space, it must be either aliens or cute little bots. And of course aliens are usually green. So there you are!
