Congrats to John Lasseter!

…for

getting the “Cartoonist of the Year” title at the Channel Frederator Awards.

full details of the Awards For those who might not

know, Channel Frederator is a podcast for independent animated shorts (fancy way of saying almost anyone can

submit a cartoon they made to be played on the podcast) and had recently held the 1st Annual Channel Frederator

Awards on January 24th. I should know because I was asked to write a brief essay on animation. The entire thing

is I guess sponsered by Frederator Studios, the great people who bring you cartoons such as The Fairly

OddParents, Chalk Zone, and My Life As A Teenage Robot. I’ll check to see if Mr. Lasseter actually attended, and

if so, did he read my pathetic little essay? (which happened to have a shameless plug for Radio Pixar…)

A great congrats to Mr. Lassiter. He really deserved something as grand as that.

Congrats John!!! You deserve it!

Heheh –

congratulations, Mr. Lasseter!

ADJ08 - Thanks for the information.

Brilliant! Congratulations to Mr. Lasseter! And thanks

for the information and link, ADJ08.

Yay! Way to be John! That’s really great!

Unfortunately, Mr. Lasseter was not able to physically attend the Freddy Award ceremnoy, but he did give a nice

acceptance speech from his office where he also talks about how the internet has changed how upcoming animators

are showcasing their work.

to younger viewers. Channel Frederator is an explicit rated podcast.[/b]

Note: The “Cartoonist of the Year Award” is after the

“Funniest film” award and film. It begins around 6:32 in the video. (Award

is presented with a clip fro mCars, then John’s "acceptance

speech".)
