Crikey! Steve Irwin has Died

Link

Well, I

didn’t expect to read that when I woke up this morning. :frowning:

Rest in peace, man. You were so cool and

courageous.

Oh my

gosh. What a shame.

My mom won’t believe this.

I just read it on someone’s DA journal, and thought it

was yet-another “urban legend” about him being killed by this or that animal. There have been many

rumors in the past about Steve being killed, causing him to joke once on tv that he was the "Paul McCartney

of naturalists". Sadly, though, this does not appear to be an urban legend this time.

Few people

have done as much to change attitudes about animals that many people hate and fear-the reptiles-as this man. He

brought them into people’s living rooms via the tv and showed people that these were not the vicious, mindless

killing machines everyone thought they were. While I hate it that he died so young, and left behind two young

children, I would rather know that he went out doing something he loved, than wasting away in a nursing home

eventually. I made the same statement when Dale Earnheart, Sr. was killed, and many people thought it was

terrible that I felt that way, but I will stick with it, having watched so many of my loved ones die lingering

and painful deaths, no longer able to do the things they loved.

That’s an interesting way of

putting it, PBL, but I see what you mean. What a way to go…being the adventurous person that he loved to

be.

I’m still in total shock.

By the way it happrned seems like it was just his time  My father was a big fan of his but I didn’t tell

him the news yet. :frowning:

Oh man, this is just

so shocking and sad. He was a cool guy.

 R.I.P. Steve Irwin

I just heard. It’s a real shame …

 His show was one of the very few nature shows I’d watch as a kid … rest in peace, Steve …

Poor guy. I quote this from yahoo.

“The “Crocodile Hunter” died as he loved living: seeking out exotic creatures in the wild.”

Rest in peace. And we’llsee you in heaven.

Wow… this

may sound insensitive, but I knew all the way back to the first time I saw him in high school that something like

this was going to happen. It’s still weird and sad, though.

He was a great guy to

watch. I’m not a wild-animal person, but I loved watching his show. He may have been easy to poke fun at, but he

was passionate beyond words about the animals he “hunted,” and he made learning about

“dangerous,” “creepy,” and “scary” animals fun. Not only was he a naturalist and a

conservationist, he was an entertainer. He was Jack Hanna on speed.

If we can say nothing else about him,

let us say this: He loved what he did, and he did what he loved, and it was obvious. Rest in peace, Steve-O.

We’ll truly miss you.

This is just so, so sad. He did die doing what he loved, and he did understand the

risks that he was putting himself through when doing what he loved, but still…He was such an amazing man.

There’s very few people like him, very few. R.I.P.

Well, no, it’s not so insensitive.

All those years of watching him wrestle with alligators and handle deadly snakes always made my mom say things

like, “One of these days…”.

Thanks.

I heard about it last night, but it didn’t make an

impact on me until I slept on it. The news is still fresh to me, therefore it’s hard to imagine the world

without him. He was such a great character, and my prayers go out to his family.

I still can’t believe it

even as I write this. I guess it needs some time to sink in. But I’m really grateful for the world he has shown

us.

I know I’ll miss his character in the world. I loved

his Discovery Specials.
RIP Steve

Some how I always pictured Steve Irwin

would be in a Pixar film. but now he can’t.

I found out late last night. Boy, unexpected things

just happen everywhere . . . RIP, Steve.

Hey, if you think about it, he could’ve been

an Aussie diver in Finding Nemo as a cameo.

Rest in Peace Mr. Irwin!

:frowning: What else can I say really? He did what he loved and died for his cause, can I say the same for the rest of

the human population?

omfg i LOVED Steve Irwin!! I found out right after the

whole thing happened v.v I felt so bad for him and i still do…Sighs in shame Stupid Stingray
