Current Mood

Y’know, for all my ranting about Christmas in November on Twitter, I can feel myself getting festive already…just a little

Mood: Upset/In love

Reason: Thanksgiving break is almost over. I can’t go back there. I CAN’T. It’s so stressful, I’m worried about getting gray hair soon :open_mouth: But then, I’m in absolute love with Tangled. I. Love. It. So so much. The music is brilliant, I looove Flynn, and just everything about it.

heehe, I have a love hate relationship with Christmas as well.

Katie: I’m seeing Tangled today, I’m glad to hear you (and nearly everybody else) love sit!

I love Christmas in December and VERY late November, but any other time and it really gets on my nerves something chronic.

Current Mood: Excited.

Reason: Looks like we’re putting up our decorations next Thursday on the 4th of December, awesome  If I had my way I would do it on the 1st, but then when it comes to Christmas (in December) I always have and always will be a big kid, and proud of it

I love Christmas. I wait 11 and 1/2 months for it, and the wait is Hell. I just wish 2 things:

1.) Stop the commercialism. Must you tarnish the only holiday I enjoy? :imp:
2.)Why do Atheists and Agnostics celebrate a distinctively religious holiday?

Both of these defeat the point of Christmas.

^I can answers you Nº 2:

Because it’s one of the few occasions you’re free from work, so you can reunite with your family and be happy. If the same thing happened on any other date, we’ll celebrate it with our loved ones too.

That makes sense.

Thanks for your understanding.

In fact, for us, a lot of thing make sense. We’re not oblivious to the values of family and love, you know :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m not gonna lie, and I don’t mean to start an argument, but I took a little bit of offence to this. Christmas as a holiday hasn’t always been Christian if I remember correctly, and it’s become a cultural celebration as well as a religious one, and they’re celebrated in different ways. By having family gatherings an athiest/agnostic can still take plenty of meaning from Christmas.

^ I couldn’t have explained it better. Thanks, Leon.

It doesn’t bother me when people celebrate it for other, non-religious things. I do, but why spoil their fun? Greatly looking forward to it again this year, though I’m also stressing out as I’ve yet to buy anyone anything still… :open_mouth:

Thanks, as I said though, I mean not to start a fight, and I have no personal issues with IGV, none at all. I just wanted to explain myself a little is all.

Yes, I’m sure you don’t wan’t to fight.

Actually, she’s a very good friend of mine, but sometimes, religious people don’t understand how we live so we’re just explaining :stuck_out_tongue:

I have christian views (christian, mind you, not Christian) But to be honest, Christmas in the US is no longer a religious holiday. That’s why there is all that commercialism stuff (which I hate as well)

I know a lot of atheist familys. half of the do the holiday out of tradition, they grew up setting up lights and trees. The other half do it because of family.

I know Jews who celebrate it! It’s more cultural these days than relgious.

Mood: Irritated
The mouse just broke, and it’s driving me crazy!

Mood: Happy!

Reason: Star Wars: The Clone Wars is on Cartoon Network!!! And it’s the theatrical movie released in '08.

And slightly off topic: How many of you think I should wear an Ahsoka Tano avatar here soon?

I want to see two movies really bad…and take back about 5 posts I made here earlier today… I hate myself sometimes. If I could keep my stupid opinions and feelings to myself, I could be such a happy person. But I just can’t seem to do that. :frowning:

You don’t need to feel that way, you are entitled to that view point  I was just saying mine is all.

Mood: Saddened.

Reason: Leslie Nielsen died  Coincidentally, I felt the strange need to watch one of his movies and I did, which adds to my bewildering. He has a great comedian, and will surely be missed.

JustSoWall-eCrazy: Do you like the new character designs on Clone Wars they’re using since last episode?. I think they look awesome and much more realistic! And yes, you can use an Ahsoka if you want, though she isn’t my favorite character.

Leon: Dude, you’re a bloke. Aren’t us lot supposed to be good at driving? :stuck_out_tongue: Jokes aside, don’t sweat it too much. I had trouble with Manuals too, I remember my first driving lesson, the instructor actually made me drive back home from the school. On the expressway! I was so terrified that the car would stall halfway, but thankfully I didn’t muck up and made it back in one piece. Just focus on one thing at a time, don’t panic, and most of all, believe in yourself (as corny as that sounds)!

SoA: Oh god, really? I loved him in all those spoof comedies. :frowning:

IV: Don’t feel bad about expressing your opinion. As I’ve mentioned before, as long as you do it in a diplomatic manner and don’t personally attack anyone outside of the discussion topic, you should do fine.

eje: Is there a difference between ‘christian’ and ‘Christian’? I assume the former is a more liberal, modern approach, and the latter is a more fundamentalist, traditional approach? Anyway, what the hey, my family used to set up a Christmas tree when we were kids, but nowadays we can’t be *rsed to do it. :stuck_out_tongue: And we don’t believe in exchanging gifts, hugs are cheaper and easier! The only ritual we do every Christmas for the past decade is to go take pictures with the Christmas lights at Orchard Road in Singapore.

Current Mood: Excited
So I’m back in Singapore with my old folks, and I’m eager to watch Megamind and Tangled, check out the Christmas lights in the CBD, visit the casinos and Universal Studios theme park, show a visiting friend around the island, borrow some Kathryn Lasky books, and do a little job-hunting.

It’s on like Pokemon, baby!
