I know where EJE is coming from. I washed out of college my first year and have since tried to get back into it. A friend of mine was able to get into a film school in San Francisco on loans while I don’t even have enough credit to get a throwaway card. So I’,m stuck in boring old Toledo and it just makes me feel awful that I have to endure who knows how many more years here.while they get to live it up in one of the cities I’ve always dreamed of living in.
But Doc is right, too. Turns out the tuition for that school alone is over 17K and I don’t have to tell you how much it costs to live in the Bay Area, especially San Fran My career choice is in such an exclusive market that costs like that are foolhardy at best and suicidal at worst. Despite the fact that I’ll miss out on the social experiences, the scenery and the network connections, I don’t have to worry about the thought that I spent 75K+ on what essentially could end up being nothing more than the world’s most expensive labor vacation.
DocKenobi: I know I shouldnt’ feel bad, but my friend just always brings it up, and it’s like she can’t even tell it bothers me. I’m glad with my choice to stay behind. I’m only spending about $500 a semester. I think I just felt instulted because they literally were saying that “Education is an investment, and what you buy is what you get” and “We’re so mature and independent.” Ugh.
aerostarmonk: lol I know, the Bay Area is so expensive. I love the wine country, but I do not plan on living here forever! I’m glad I can relate to you, I feel stuck in my hometown. But I know someday we’ll both break out and do great things. I suppose we’re just doingn it different than everyone else!
Reason: Just found out that a certain major motion picture from Marvel directed by Joss Whedon will be shooting scenes not to far from my town. I’ve missed out on so many location shoots in the area. But this won’t be one of them.
Oh my freakin’ gosh… I got my DSi XL… and I actually screamed when I opened it, because I really didn’t think I was gonna get it. xDDDD I’m sooo flippin’ happy right now.
I also got Kirby’s Epic Yarn… which is amazing so far, even though I played like, the first level and I had to stop because I have an intense headache. I think it is just because I am really tired (it’s almost 1:00 AM right now). So I’m definitely ready for bed.
I also got to play some Professor Layton (yay!!), but I was so tired, I was failing the first puzzles really fast. I think I will do much better tomorrow when I’m actually awake.
So… Merry Christmas, everyone! Hope your Christmas was as good as mine.
aerostarmonk: Ugh, that sucks! That’s weird to me that it’d close. Where I live everything stays open virtually, food wise. But then again I live in the Bay Area aka more atheiests-per-acre than most parts of the US.
Aww, I really hope things get better for you e-j-e!
I’m feeling pretty dandy right now. Everyone’s in a good mood, and Christmas music is pouring out the windows. The festives won’t kick off much till our grandparents arrive (ruh-roh! ) and Dad wakes up.
Reason: Got my Christmas presents! I love every single one of my gifts!
I got:
A Scarf and Gloves set Ratatouille!!!
A Gift Card
Power Director 8 (Yay! I’ll finally make better videos!)
and…
Both paperback volumes of the WALL•E comic!!!
Reason: For the past few days we’ve been taking care of Five puppies I found under my aunt’s shed in the backyard…and their babies so I haven’t been getting mach sleep,or freetime to come on here, besides the fact that my dad hogs the computer…
Geez, getting up late REALLY takes a toll on the rest of the day. Haven’t really gotten anything done. Maybe because there isn’t much to do. I’m also kind of mad that winter break is almost over and very little good came with it. Ah well.
Reason: Yesterday, I visited my grandparents, so I took my laptop there to be entertained. The only disadvantage was that we cannot connect to the internet, so I took the time there to work on a meme for dA (which I hope, God willing, to finish up today).
And this morning, we went to visit one of my mom’s friends for breakfast. There, I decided to do some doodles of my weird and wacky characters so I wouldn’t be bored.
Yeah, it’s been hectic. And the rest of this week will be busy as well.
JustSoWall-eCrazy: Sounds nice, it’s better that you’re busy than bored!
Lerin: It makes me sad that break is almost over! All my PP and real-life friends are going back to school around the first week of Janurary, I have an extra 2 weeks! I don’t know what I’ll do!
xCarsluverx: Awww, puppies! So cute!

Mood: Content
Reason: I just went to lunch with my Grandma and sister, and we went and saw Yogi Bear. I already saw it, but it was fun to see again. It was my Grandma’s first 3D movie, so she was amazed! Some parts she yelled out “Oh Shit!” in a theater with small kids, hahah it was great!
That game takes so long, I bought the PIXAR edition to make it fun for myself. It didn’t help much. Now I just keep it with my stuff because of the metal case with holographic PIXAR characters.
Mood: pretty good
Reason: Well, I got new stuff, had a good Christmas, and I’m not at school.
Reason: Today we had to go to an appointment at an apartment building, for my grandmother is moving again in January (she’s been living in another apartment building since April of last year, and it hasn’t been so well for her). After that, we ran some errands and had some lunch/dinner at a buffet, so I won’t be eating for the rest of the day (unless I want some water or fruit).
