I’m praying for you, Vi. And Spirit, I hope everything turns out ok!
I’ll probably move sometime after college.
Mood: Upset and very mildly depressed. :c
Reason: Just…having a lot of self-esteem issues as it relates to my art. If I talked about it in detail, I’d only sound like I’m complaining or boo-hooing for attention, so I won’t, because I’m not an attention-seeker.
It just… really, really sucks. ;____;

Woo! So are you mainly studying history then? I have an embarrassing thing to share. Just today, I realized that Clint Eastwood’s film J. Edgar isn’t about Herbert Hoover. I got them confused all this time. Silly me! Tee hee.
My classes for next year are: National Cinema (focus on Eastern European), Intro to Creative Writing, 20th Century Art & Architecture, Why America Looks This Way (art history/architecture), History of Modern Design. The first two do nothing for my degree but I wanted something fun, engaging, and creative to offset all the art history lecture classes.
Mood: Relaxed
Reason: My professor announced that all “late” work (she’s VERY lax about due dates) will be due a week from now, which should give me some breathing room for completing assignments. I only have one BIG assignment left, besides the one I’m currently finishing, and it’s basically a paper about myself and my teaching style. So it should be relatively easy to write. ![]()
Mood: excited
Reason: I’m going home tomorrow.
Many artists go through that! You’er not alone, I know I feel the same way. Don’t be afraid to share your art! My favorite animator, Chuck Jones, says that when he was in art school, his professor told the class “Each of you has 1,000 bad drawings in you. The sooner we get them out the better.”
Basically, if you’re having troubles or unhappy with your art, just keep going at it. Practise makes perfect!
Yes, I am. I’ve changed my major quite a few times in the last couple years, but I’m pretty sure I’m sticking to history. It’s what I love and know best.
Haha, no problem! You know, dont’ feel too bad. Most people wouldn’t even know who Herbert Hoover was! At least you know both those men exist!
And those are all super cool classes! I’d like to take Why America Looks This Way!
K9Girl- Thank you. I really appreciate it. I’m better, now
.
Pixarfan91- Yeah, I’f we move again, it’ll be around that time. But I’m not pushing the issue.
little chef- I’m sorry. I hope you feel better soon. You’re art is wonderful! And nobody’s perfect
. So don’t be too hard on yourself. I’ll be praying for you. The advice Ellie gave you is very good. I’d take it
.
TSS- I’m really happy for you
!
Current Mood: Good
.
Reason: In short: God, Prayer, Mom and Dad, good friends, PP, and a talk with a close friend. And getting out of the house helped.
I hate algebra also!! More thsn I can say. I’m failing Algebra 2. ![]()
I hate math in general. I’m happy that next semester I’m taking my last math class ever.
Current Mood: Bad
I feel terrible. Everytime I try to say something, it feels like the air in my lungs just goes away, and I feel exhausted, but I can’t miss school tomorrow cause I’ve missed almost 10 days this year so far and I have a band concert tomorrow which I need to rehearse for.
I also hate math, was never really good at it.
Oh my! You’ve gone to the doctor, right?
I think my sister’s been angry at me all day, but she’s also been away from the house most of the day…so I can just sit here and ponder whether or not she hates me. ![]()
I have a weird track record with math. At one point in middle school I was definitely failing algebra, like 30% range, because I didn’t really care about school and I would never pay attention in class. It didn’t get a whole lot better after that; I was always happy to get a C in math. Once I transferred to a new school, though, I was put in algebra 2/trig and they had teachers who tutored in the library on their lunch break, so I would pop in there for just 5 minutes a day, and I ended up getting perfect scores on most of my tests and, of course, an A in the class. So I guess I can’t really say that I’m “bad” at math. The only thing that I just don’t get are proofs in geometry, even though that ironically coincides with right-brain thinking, which I tend to lean towards heavily as an artist.
Sorry for talking so much about math.
Just sharing my success story so math hopefully doesn’t seem too scary to you folks. At my university, we’re supposed to take 6 credits (~2 classes) of science and/or math, and I’ve absolutely been dreading it.
That’s interesting, I meet a lot of people who hate math.
I like it and always was on good terms with math at school, though I’ve fell behind in it lately. That’s why:
Mood: tired
Reason: I need to do my physics, math and programming assignments as soon as possible, or I’ll have to pass extra tests, and I’d really like to skip them.
Mood: Happy
Reason: I now have 9000 post.
Current Mood: Mad
I can’t wait another 13 days till Christmas or another 15 days till Final Destination 5 comes out on Blu-ray. It feels like I’ve been waiting for them forever! I just can’t take anymore waiting!
Mood: ecstatic!!
Reason: I just got The Art of Ratatouille and I’m almost crying, it’s so beautiful. ;____; I loved the Art of WALL-E, but this one really hits home for me in a completely different way and I’m really hoping it was that kick I needed to get back into my art. fgkhjfg ugh omg I just love this sosooo much hnnghgh <333

^ Yay! I put that on my Christmas wish list and there’s a decent chance I’ll get it. My mom emailed me when she was shocked at the $300+ price tag… for the limited edition pressing. I’m not quite that crazy.
But yeah, from what I can tell of the thumbnails, the book looks like it has some really nice artwork, so I’m glad to hear someone else found it inspiring. ![]()
Mood: Either relaxed or this is just the calm before the storm
Reason: I’m finishing up my take-home exam, which is quite easy, and then I just have to do 1.5 more chapter responses by Wednesday. So I think I’m going to do okay during finals week. I might even have time to bake cupcakes tonight!

We just got a lot of snow! And it’s supposed to snow again tomorrow. (I love snow)
I kind of feel like going out and doing random stuff in the snow later this afternoon. I tried building a mini snowman during my afternoon walk, but the dog kept running through it. ![]()
