I’m really sorry that you’re being treated that way. People can be so intolerant when ti comes to politics. It’s unfortunate really. To have a truly democratic society, we need as many people of voting age to vote. And the harsh world of politics discourages many to become further interested in politics, which can spell disaster.
My political science professor had a good philosophy. He said “I dont’ care who you vote for. As long as you go out and vote. It’s the most important thing you can do for society.”
And I agree. I hope that these people aren’t discouraging you from having an interest in the world of politics. More than ever we need people to be active and interested.
You can never be too young to make a difference. And honestly, voting is the least one can do for their society politics wise.
But yes, you have your whole life ahead of you. And if people can’t live and let live with opposing viewpoints, then forget them! If you’re losing friends because they dont’ respect your opinons, than they’re not true friends anyway.
Reason: I just got a call back from the Apple Store!! They’ll be having a hiring event and interviews on February 9, and I should be getting an email soon with more details on it. I’m so flipping excited, this is the job I’d really prefer to have and I’m hoping I’ll have enough edge over the others to actually get hired. :'D
