Current Mood

Mood: Seriously in dilemma.

Why? Here goes:

Okay, technically my dream job is to be an animator. However, that’s gonna be wait for a while as the course that I take in college would be Quantity Surveying/Cost Engineering. But there’s something a bit of me people not know except my familia: To join an army.

Yeah, at first, I never like the job, but since I attended National Service Program, my heart was open for it. Being an army is not what I got in mind. Plus, their uniforms quite neat and smart too.

Here goes: My dad (he’s quite better now from his illness BTW) called me about this news. I would be an officer of the army, but I have to pass an interview first. The dilemma goes right…now: The date of the interview is during my final exam this semester. Which is…3 weeks from now.

I have two critical choice to choose now:

#1: Let go the offer, carry on with my poor, boring, real life.

#2: Be an army but the don’t know the probability of the chances I pass the interview & if not, I can’t go back to college anymore.

#3: I have to ask my Academic Adviser to delay my tests, go for the interview, and see what happen.

OMG, I’m so confused right now!!! HELP!

Mood: for once in the entire week, happy.

Reason: I’ve been getting a lot of love from not only you awesome guys on PixarPlanet, but also my real life friends. My bestest friend on the planet wants me and my sister to go over to her house tonight, just to chill and hang, and I can’t wait. Then my former youth group leader asked me if I wanted to go over to her house next week just to talk and have coffee and stuff. I feel really loved and special right about now, and I feel like I haven’t felt that way in a while and I need this. <3

wannabechef91: Aww, I’m so sorry that you’re having such a hard time with this decision; I’d be a bit confused too if I were in that situation. :frowning: I wish there were a way I could help, but I’m not sure that I can. Whatever you decide on, all of us here will be backing you up and will be your support whenever you need us. You can know that you’ll be in my prayers this week.

little chef

I hope violence is not involved… for your sake as much as this kid’s.

Hannahmation: The muffin episode sounds like fun! My fellow animators are too shy to act out their actions (which should not be the way, really), but when we do, it’s fun (especially walk cycles!).

ffdude: Hope your heart prob gets better. Tell us about your movie marathon when you get back.

TSS: I envy your efficiency. If only I had no assignments looming over my head, I can start my MV in peace. On the other hand, I can’t wait to see what you come up with.

wannabechef: National Service? I believe I didn’t get the call to arms, but my bro did. He deferred since he had to do his uni degree. Isn’t NS supposed to be only like a few months? Unless you’re applying to be a soldier as a career. It’s up to you, really. I think Option 3 is best, cos’ it’d be a waste to have done all the revision and not sit for the final test. The interview can come later. But if you do become an officer, you’ll have to face the possibility that you may never reach your dreams as an animator (due to the career progression and all that). You can always quit the army and start over, but it’s easier when you’re younger.

little_chef: I’m sure all of us here feel better that you feel better. The human condition is awesome.

Mood: Exhausted and a little jaded

I think I may have hit the ‘wall’ for my major assignment. It’s three more weeks to assessments, and I have not pulled enough for my group contributions. I’m really tired, we’re at full speed now, and not even halfway done with animations. I just want this to be over and done with. Ugh, how infuriating!

Mood: Extremely happy

I finally got my first job!!!

Congrats on the new job TSS! I hope you have a good time with that!

Hannahmation: Said it before, that’s just stupid awesome! XD Pixar would be proud.

Current Mood: Magnificent!

Reason: Got back from my Animated Movie Extravaganza not too long ago! Started with Up at 2:20, one of my better showings. Laughed more than usual, cried in the usual spots, and enjoyed myself thoroughly. The projector has fallen into a bad habit lately though of cutting off the first 2 minutes of credits. Makes me upset. I still get to say bye to Luxo though.

5:15, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. GO WATCH THIS MOVIE. I was expecting a good movie, but I was outright blown away. Seriously, this is the best animation I’ve seen outside of Pixar by FAR. CwaCoM>>>>>>Kung Fu Panda. Sony Pictures did an absolutely stellar job with this film, I loved it. There’s a lot of heart to the story, which I wasn’t expecting, especially the very, very end. There were some parts towards the middle and just before the ending that were really out there, but the first 30-40 minutes and the ending absolutely SHINE. Amazing film. Also, I saw it in IMAX 3D, the image quality was AWESOME, and the 3D was very good. It didn’t pop out so much, but it worked very well.

7:00, Toy Story. On the big screen where it belongs. I was expecting the 3D to detract from the movie, but it really didn’t at all. I was impressed with how well the 3D worked, but there were never any pop-out moments. The image quality was fantastic, and of course the film itself was great. By the way, I’ve officially teared up watching every Pixar film, (ABL being the only one I haven’t CRIED watching)

9:00, Toy Story 2. I didn’t make it a point to look for the 3D, it was more noticeable in the first movie, but the quality was great, as expected. Jessie’s flashback killed me, as usual, and the rest of the film was fantastic. Seriously, these are movies MADE for the big screen, they should be there permanently. Started an applause after the outtakes, and a lot of people joined in.

The, the meat and potatoes of the journey, content-wise. The TS3 trailer.

I’m officially excited to see Toy Story 3. The trailer is shocking, beautiful, hilarious, and very cool, all within about one and a half minutes. Pixar has done it again, there’s almost no chance this movie won’t be up to par with the first 2, I’m actually expecting it to be much better now. Seriously, go to the double feature just for this trailer. You’ll love it.

I actually ended up losing my wallet for 30 minutes after leaving TS2, but I found it and made it home. Had an absolute blast today, saw 4 incredible films, and 1 stunning trailer. Thank you again Pixar!

TSS: Good for you! What is your occupation, may I enquire?

ffdude: Glad to read about your mad-awesome movie marathon! Makes me anticipate the TS3 theatrical trailer all the more, I wish they did a double-feature here too! :frowning:

Mood: Contented
I watched The Incredibles on Free-To-Air and finished another chunk of my animation project today. I think I’ll take tomorrow off and make some graphics. Provided I don’t have anything to finish by Monday.

Thanks little chef and TDIT for the concern, I just don’t know what to say.

little chef: Well, that made my day! Glad you’re okay now! Congrats for being strong!

TDIT: Well, actually, I put Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia (Malaysia National Military University [Did I sounded it right?]) the first choice in my college application. I didn’t get the interview, but now something BIG calling. sigh

Avril Lavigne’s I’m With You as the music BG

Mood: Wow! What am I gonna say? It’s kinda a mix of excite, in a mood of boggleness, with future to control.

Reason: It’s been 2 days since the news. 2 same dreams. 1 same person. Sometimes I feel happy that I see myself in that uniform, but in reality, my life would be uncertain with those 2 choices. I pray and pray each day for God to enlighten me, to give me the real way, to give serenity to me, but it not yet happen.

Like TDIT said, my (main) dream is at stake now, but still, serving the country (no, not just in economy or social, but being a soldier), yeah, is one of my (crazy) dream that I must achieve.

Animation is my passion (Animator). Food is my love (Chef). Quantity Surveying/Cost Engineering is my current certain job (Quantity Surveyor). Psychology is my almost expertise (Psychologist). Serving loyally, can’t resist those people in those good-looking, irresistible uniforms…aah…(Soldier)

Guess I leave it to Fate, I guess.

ffdude: Sounds like you really had a great time! Congrats!

TSS: Cool! Congrats buddy! May I know what is it?

mood: kinda angry and disappointed

I went to see the Toy Story double feature yesterday but I didn’t get to see the Toy Story 3 trailer. I was hoping to go sometime this week but I can’t find anybody to go with! I’ll probably end up going with my little brother next weekend if I can’t find anybody sooner…

Pleased to hear you’re feeling better, red.

I’m not sure what I would do if I were you, wannabechef91, but it’s a very personal decision that only you can make. Either way, good luck and it sounds like whatever happens, you’ll be happy in your future.

Congrats on the new job, TSS! I’m sure you’ll love working, especially when you get that wage slip at the end of the month.

Mood: Tired and slightly annoyed.

Reasons: It was very, very busy at work today. We sold almost £12,000 worth of shoes today alone! I fancied going to the cinema tonight to chill out and watch Toy Story in 3D, but now I know that the Toy Story 3 trailer isn’t even shown with it, I’m not sure if it’s worth it. I can’t help but be disappointed every time overseas countries don’t get the same treatment as the States, despite the fact that with Pixar films in particular, it’s been happening for years and sounds as though it will continue to happen for a while yet.

lizardgirl: Well, if you like the movie, and it’s not too much of an issue financially, there shouldn’t be any reason not to go. Toy Story really shines on the big screen. It’s up to you, but I think you should go if you have the option. I personally would not hesitate to support Pixar or pass up the chance to see a film of theirs on the big screen, even if I’ve already seen it several times.

Current Mood:Bored out of my skull and worried

My mom and sister are sick,I hope they don’t have the H1N1. (swine flu) And since they are sick I got nothing to do. I don’t wanna get sick on my birthday. And I just let out a few coughs :open_mouth: And my dad is sitting RIGHT by my mom and she is the sickest. I don’t want my dad to get sick,or him OR my mom won’t be able to take me to the double feature! Oh god,I’m really worried! Could someone pray for me that me or my dad don’t get sick? Oh dear lord,I’m REALLY REALLY worried!

If you are were wondering, I am going to be a camp counselor over the winter holidays. It is by my community, so it should be a fun and rewarding experience.

Mood: Tired but happy. I am having a blast with my siblings, but all this fun can get you tired.

Mood: Excited, disappointed, inspired

Reason: I just got back from seeing the Toy Story Double Feature. It was amazing seeing those movies in 3D on the big screen. Phenomenal! I’m disappointed though because the theater didn’t show the new TS3 trailer. They showed the 1st one instead. I am now inspired to go do some animation! It may be 11pm, but I’m not going to let this inspiration go to waste!

ffdude1906- Hm, I see where you’re coming from, though in a way I don’t mind missing a chance to support a Pixar film when, in the process of supporting Pixar, I’m essentially being ripped off. If I wanted to watch both Toy Story and Toy Story 2 in the cinema in 3D on the separate occassions, I’d have to pay almost £20 ($40) which is just too much for me, as a student. For me, that’s almost a whole day’s wages!

But…as you said, it’d be amazing to see what is my favourite Pixar film on the big screen. Mreh, I’m still undecided.

Hope your mum and sister get well soon, annarborjack!

That sounds like a really cool job, TSS, especially as you’ll be helping the community out.

Mood: Tired.

Reason: Another long day at work. In a way, I almost can’t wait to go back to Sixth Form tomorrow as it’s less tiring than working!

Mood: Happy (for once)
Reason: Dolphins won!

Will this Thread ever end? XD

Mood: Happy and sad at the same time

Reason: Back from vacay!!

Details

Yeah, I don’t feel like typing it all out again, so I’m just gonna give you a link to my dA journal with the scoop on what happened while I was gone.

Mood: Not in the mood really.

Reason: I dunno. It seems like life just pass through me just like that day by day. Well, that’s the reason why I’m not here (on PP) so often these days. :frowning:

Exhausted

Current Mood: Reluctant

Reason: Darn comp essay, I don’t wanna do it. I’m halfway done, but I just wanna goof off, especially since I finally got internet on my lappy at my friend’s dorm.

Sounds like you had a great time, LightningAndDoc! Going to a waterpark and seeing the Toy Story double feature makes up one great vacation it seems!

Yeah, I know what you mean, wannabechef91. I find that doing something creative or something that I haven’t done in a while, like playing the piano or doing some painting or sewing or whatever might float your boat tends to help. It makes me feel like I’m actually doing something constructive when I do those sorts of things. Or even some spring cleaning! Nothing more satisfying than hoovering and dusting the house from top to bottom.

Ah, the great distraction of the internet, ffdude1906…I’m supposed to be doing my biology work right now. The internet does not help.

Mood: Pleased and excited.

Reasons: My UCAS application has finally been sent off! Now to sit back and wait…Plus, I’m finally getting excited about seeing Up on Friday. I think it’s actually hit me that it’s going to be here soon!
