Congrats on the new job TSS! I hope you have a good time with that!
Hannahmation: Said it before, that’s just stupid awesome! XD Pixar would be proud.
Current Mood: Magnificent!
Reason: Got back from my Animated Movie Extravaganza not too long ago! Started with Up at 2:20, one of my better showings. Laughed more than usual, cried in the usual spots, and enjoyed myself thoroughly. The projector has fallen into a bad habit lately though of cutting off the first 2 minutes of credits. Makes me upset. I still get to say bye to Luxo though.
5:15, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. GO WATCH THIS MOVIE. I was expecting a good movie, but I was outright blown away. Seriously, this is the best animation I’ve seen outside of Pixar by FAR. CwaCoM>>>>>>Kung Fu Panda. Sony Pictures did an absolutely stellar job with this film, I loved it. There’s a lot of heart to the story, which I wasn’t expecting, especially the very, very end. There were some parts towards the middle and just before the ending that were really out there, but the first 30-40 minutes and the ending absolutely SHINE. Amazing film. Also, I saw it in IMAX 3D, the image quality was AWESOME, and the 3D was very good. It didn’t pop out so much, but it worked very well.
7:00, Toy Story. On the big screen where it belongs. I was expecting the 3D to detract from the movie, but it really didn’t at all. I was impressed with how well the 3D worked, but there were never any pop-out moments. The image quality was fantastic, and of course the film itself was great. By the way, I’ve officially teared up watching every Pixar film, (ABL being the only one I haven’t CRIED watching)
9:00, Toy Story 2. I didn’t make it a point to look for the 3D, it was more noticeable in the first movie, but the quality was great, as expected. Jessie’s flashback killed me, as usual, and the rest of the film was fantastic. Seriously, these are movies MADE for the big screen, they should be there permanently. Started an applause after the outtakes, and a lot of people joined in.
The, the meat and potatoes of the journey, content-wise. The TS3 trailer.
I’m officially excited to see Toy Story 3. The trailer is shocking, beautiful, hilarious, and very cool, all within about one and a half minutes. Pixar has done it again, there’s almost no chance this movie won’t be up to par with the first 2, I’m actually expecting it to be much better now. Seriously, go to the double feature just for this trailer. You’ll love it.
I actually ended up losing my wallet for 30 minutes after leaving TS2, but I found it and made it home. Had an absolute blast today, saw 4 incredible films, and 1 stunning trailer. Thank you again Pixar!
