Current Mood

Mitch: I can relate with you 100%. Like, seriously. Just… please don’t be so upset. There’s no reason for it. You’re an incredible person with a personality uniquely your own, and the last thing you should be is ashamed of it. :frowning:

I’ll be sending you a PM on this, girl. You need some picking up and encouragement.

little chef

little_chef is right, Mitch- you should be proud of your unique personality, proud to not be a sheep! And it’s good that you value your friendships with others, more people should do that rather than taking them for granted. It sounds like you’re having a bit of a low at the moment, but just try to remember that there are a lot of people who care about you in the world, and for good reason. You’re worth a lot, Mitch, and you’ve got plenty to offer.

I’m not really good at ‘pep talks’, so I’ll respond to your statements instead, Mitch.

Maybe it is your “oh-so-unique personality” that attracts them? Some people may like you for who you are, and not your riches, fame, or talent.

If you’ve been trying to make people happy, you’re not a useless dead-beat.

As long as it’s not intentional or purpose, you shouldn’t feel bad about it. Just apologize to the person and try to make amends. He/she will understand if you didn’t mean it.

You say you have no purpose, or that people have no reason to like you. But the truth is the total opposite. You have made huge contributions to this forum (probably some I’ve never seen since you’ve been here before my arrival), you create great art that continues to inspire the community, and you’re just an all-round good person (unless you moonlight as a cat burglar or something). Don’t ever think otherwise.

If you ever need an ear, PM me or any of the members here.

Mood: Pleased and annoyed

My folks are here in Sydney to settle my sis in. While it’s nice to have their company, and have someone do the housework (my mum insisted, so it’s not like I didn’t try), they are also a source of minor annoyance. I mean, within the first day, my dad broke the toilet flush handle, my sis pulled out the shower holder, and my mum rearranged my wardrobe. Do you know how embarassing it is to handle someone else’s knickers? I’m like two decades old now!

It’s also frustrating that my brother and I are constantly interrogated as to our whereabouts, how we are “filling our time productively”, and having personal liberties (sleeping late, watching TV) curtailed. It’s all for our own good, I guess… Family, love 'em.

Mood: Paranoid. D8>

Reason: With it being so warm out, apparently it induced the hatching of mosquitoes… which I loathe with a burning passion.

And… my sister just found and killed one in our room.

That means some got in the house. :shake: Now every little tickle against my skin or something small floating in front of my face makes me flip out.

I won’t be able to sleep at ALL tonight.

little chef

Ugh, now how you feel. I hate those things, I don’t see how they help the earth at all other than being a food source for some animals.

Mood-Awww.

I was frying crab cakes outside. It’s night so the moths were out. One of the moths was bothering me so I tried scaring it off, but it mistook the glimmering hot oil in my pan for water and dived into it. I heard it bubbling, it got fried to death. It also ruined my crab cake. =(

Mood: Excited

Reason: Saw a behind the scenes look at Camp Rock 2! Yes, they’re coming out with a sequel!

Mood: Worried and scared. :frowning:

Reason: I heard about the earthquake in Mexico/SoCal and can’t stop thinking about mo. I have no way of finding out if he’s okay, 'cuz given the proximity of his city to where the earthquake struck, he had to have gotten it pretty bad.

I’m going to send him a PM and hope he gets it, but all I can do right now is pray that he’s all right…

God, I won’t be able to think about anything else until I know for sure if he’s okay.

little chef

thedriveintheatre- Hehe, I can relate  ! But you’re right, I don’t think most parents really do anything to spite us, they do try to do things to help us (whether it does or not). Cute how you typed it, though, made me laugh  .

little_chef_eva09- Oh, I’m sorry! I just heard about that today. I hope he’s okay. I had no idea he lived that close! I said a quick prayer for him before I made this post. I hope he’s alright and his family, too.

I also know how you feel about the mosquitoes :unamused: . They’re all over the place where we live. They are irritating. Whenever I get close to any small bug, I start to itch. Forget the big ones, those you can see! The little ones are scary :shake: !

FounderofAzn- Oh, that’s… ouch :frowning: . That’s sad. Poor thing. I hope he died quickly and didn’t suffer. Well, I hope you at least get to enjoy your crab cakes soon enough.

JustSoWall-eCrazy- Oh, I heard about that! Does it look good? I haven’t heard much.

Current Mood: Good

Reason: I’ve been doing pretty good. Got to get out and walk today, so that was nice. But my nose is stuffed up. Oh well, allergies… they ain’t gonna stop me  ! I’m a super hero! I need to be ready to save the wold at a moments notice!

Mood: Relaxed

Reason: After a long night, I found out my class got cancelled, so I’m free for a while now.

I feel like I missed out on something. My dad and I were driving to the post office when the earthquake happened, so we didn’t feel it. We saw everyone going outside of their homes and asking their neighbors if they felt it.

Mood-Annoyed

I’ve been having breathing difficulties for the past two weeks. It comes and goes, but when it does happen, I feel like I can’t do anything physical because I’m focusing all my effort on breathing normally. It’s annoying because I like to do taekwondo and swimming.

Mood: kinda sad
Reason: I dunno, I feel like nobody cares about me. (except Jesus) I never get to spend time with the people I love like my family and friends. It seems like they’re busy most the time. And everyday seems to be the same thing. I’m bored.

Current mood: Moved, and astounded

Reason: Sometimes on Facebook when I become a fan of something, I click on random people’s pictures to see what other fan pages they might have (I know that sounds stalker-ish, but really, I’m not a stalker ). So yesterday, I clicked on this picture of a pretty girl named Sophie Stephenson, and her page had access to her wall. One of the first things I happened to read was a post from one of her friends, saying “Sophie Stephenson: rest in peace - gone but never forgotten.”

I was instantly intrigued. Of all people in the world I could have found the FB page of, it was a girl from the UK who had apparently passed away at a very young age.

I started to look up more information on her and the cause of her death, and found out she apparently had had a sudden aneurism while taking a bath. (Here’s a link to the story.) She was only 14 years of age, about to turn 15 only days following her death.

I’m not sure why, but this story has moved me beyond belief. I felt like I connected with her friends and family in that moment, simply because I happened to come across her dormant Facebook page. The posts left on her wall from her grieving friends just wrenched my heart; to see posts like “I love you, Sophiebaby, come back, yeah?” I can’t even imagine losing someone so close at such a young age. I mean, the girl had an entire life in front of her, and it was gone like that.

I know this happens all over the world every single day, but the fact that I came across this particular story, out of the blue, just seems strangely incredible.

I have no idea of who she was, but I’ll be saying a prayer for that family from now on.

Rest in peace, Sophie Stephenson.

little chef

little_chef: You’re on Facebook? That’s cool! I do feel very sorry for that girl. Hope her family is doing alright.

Mood: Super happy!

Reason: Two words: SPRING BREAK!!!

JSWC: Indeed, I am! I’ve been on it for almost a year now. And yeah, I know - poor Sophie’s story is so horribly tragic. I still can’t believe I turned up a story like that completely out of the blue. :open_mouth:

Current mood: Excited and happy outta my mind.

Reason: All I had to do is look down at the bottom of the front page and see that mo was online. I logged in, messed up my password 'cuz I was typing so fast, and checked my inbox to see if he’s read my PM. He did. spazzzz

So, I haven’t received any messages from him yet, and I haven’t seen him post around here yet, but that’s all enough to at least assure me he’s okay!!! 8’D Praise God… <3

little chef

Mood: VERY Excited. Lee put a new 1:45 clip of TS3 up on twitter.    very happy

Mood: Excited!!

Reason: I finally convinced my folks to let us go see How to Train Your Dragon since I’ve heard like, a million-and-one amazing things about it. And from what I’ve read about it and the commercials I’ve seen, man. I’m pumped to see this, and I can honestly say I’ve never been this interested in a Dreamworks movie in my life.

AND we’re going to the “new” theater in the town closeby to ours - it was revamped a couple years ago and sounds really nice as compared to the one we have in town. That poor thing probably hasn’t been renovated since the 70s…

Anywho, yeah. I’m stoked.

little chef

little_chef_eva: That’s really sad about the girl. Do you know if she was a Christian?

Mood: Happy and a little excited.
Reason: I’m on my laptop with high-speed internet!

haha, how weird, me and little_chef went to go see How to Train Your Dragon on the same day

Mood: happy, but a little bored

Reason: well, like I just said, I went to go see HTTYD today, and I really liked it! (I’ll probably write what I thought about it in the movie thread later  ) And, it seems like forever since I’ve been on Pixar Planet. Sadly, this is my first post in like 10 days :frowning: I have been looking around a bit without posting though. What’s the word? Lurking? And I’m a little bored because I just finished doing my Trigonometry homework, and I had like 40 questions to do and it was NOT fun. I think I’ll probably post a bit on Pixar Planet tonight and maybe play Burnout on Playstation 2

little_chef: I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on HTTYD! You’re gonna lurve it!

Oh, and my condolences to the poor soul you found. May she rest in peace. :frowning:

JustSoWall-eCrazy: Woohoo! I have a two-week break, too! Though, I have to return to school on some days for replacement lectures (because of another upcoming public holiday, Anzac Day), and for group meetings for projects. Ugh! Why do they have assignments on breaks? Even in uni!

mo: I read your review. I think Toothless has to be my favourite Dreamworks character. He may not be as saccharine-cute as the obvious ones like Gingie, Puss, or that little prawn from Shark Tale, but boy does he have personality!

Oh, and I never liked Maths. Trigo’s a pain in the neck, I can tell ya.

Burnout FTW!!!

Current Mood: Exhausted

Right, so I got a free pass to this dance party yesterday night organized by my Malaysian Society, and it went down at one of the hippest spots in town. The thing is, I’m not a fan of clubbing to begin with (I’m a teetotaller, and an awful dancer), but I was obligated to go, since I volunteered to help out (to make amends after missing out on earlier events). I got assigned cloakroom duty, and it was simple enough - ask patron to write name and number on half a ticket, give her the other half, attach the half with the details on the item, collect money, return item when patron requests.

It’s just that I don’t ‘get’ the club culture, it just smacks of excessive hedonism and self-indulgence.

For the younger folks who’ve wondered how the inside of a discotheque looks like, just imagine a dark room filled with disorienting strobe lights, smartly-dressed people acting anything but, and ear-piercing, mind-numbing techno music. Oh, and lots of scary-looking bouncers who won’t hesitate to kick you out if you so much as look at them funny (I was even manhandled by one who looked like Stone Cold Steve Austin when I mistakenly went out through the wrong exit). If that’s your idea of ‘socialising’, by all means you’re entitled to your opinion. But for me, I’d rather hang out with friends at barbeques, shopping malls, or at the movies. :unamused:

All in all, it was an okay night. Apart from a washed-out girl who conveniently forgot her ticket and a cocky event photographer trying to pick up my duty partner, I think my shift went well. As soon as it ended (in the wee hours of the morning), I was outta there, baby!

So if there’s any young 'uns looking forward to your first clubbing outing, I can tell you from experience (this being my third session already), it’s not all it cracked up to be. My idea of a good night is crashing at someone’s place, with a good movie (Pixar, of course) and the company of friends. At least you won’t get thrown onto the streets by a WWE wrestler.

Mood: Ahhh

Reason: It’s finally warmer after it being chilly the past few days! :sunglasses:
