Current Mood

Mood: feeling more sane  and really excited!

Reason: well, with time, I got over that whole “going crazy” thing. Swimming really helped with that. And, tomorrow is the last day of school! That means no more homework, no more getting up early, and that I get to go to the lake with my dad next week! Gah, I’m really excited for the summer to come, I’ll turn 17, Toy Story 3 (along with a bunch of other movies), hanging out with friends, it’s gonna be pretty rad :stuck_out_tongue: Then when I go back to school next year I’ll be a senior that has only three classes that are hard, the rest are pretty easy (like culinary arts  ). So yeah, I’m freaking excited!

Oh yeah, and I won’t be online for a week and a half or so cuz of the lake trip I mentioned above, so I’ll see you all in the summer :sunglasses:

I’m just so extremely happy because I’m finally on SUMMER VACATION BABY, OH YEAH!! I can finally start on those list of online projects I’ve been planning on for a while now, so I’m really excited. C:

Mood: Very pleased!

Reason: I somehow managed to get a writing job a few days ago, and today I completed my first article. It’s so exciting! I never thought I’d actually get paid for writing stuff, let alone a decent wage. Yay!

Congratulations, lizardgirl! I’m a ‘student contributor’ for my school magazine and I’ve got a few movie reviews published for the last three semesters, but I’ve not received a single penny from any one of them! :frowning:

I did get a free advance ticket for one of them and a free DVD for another, and the thrill of seeing your name in print on a university publication is reward enough for the rest, I guess. I look forward to writing a feature next semester!

Current Mood: Satisfied and Excited
I won a free music CD from a competition organised by my Student Union, and I’ll be going to pick it up today!

I’m also almost finished with my next mash-up, and another chapter of my upcoming fanfic. I plan to start colouring my first HTTYD fanart or work on some sigs this afternoon/tonight, so things are going on schedule.

And Chat-O-Rama’s on tonight! Not sure if I’m attending, but there’s always two more this weekend.

I love it when a plan comes together… :sunglasses:

Mood: Excited

Why: I’m going to Cedar Point (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cedar_Point) tomorrow with my church’s youth group! But, sadly, that means no Chat-o-Rama. Oh well.

Mood: Quite happy, despite it being past midnight…

Reason: A friend of ours stopped by this afternoon and out of the blue decided to go out to Staples and buy us a Windows 7 upgrade for the HP Touchsmart with Vista that’s given us nothing but crap.

Well, not only did she buy that, but she also bought us two 1 TB external hard drives for backups - one for my mom, and one for me. Just, completely out of the blue!

So since this afternoon, they’ve been messing with that stupid computer (it has driver issues with the DVD/Blu-ray drive, so we’ve been trying to figure THAT out… what a mess!)… and in the meantime, since she brought all of her tools and stuff, we took apart the laptop and cleaned the fans out. Hunk after freakin’ hunk of dust balls came outta that thing, and since we did that and I turned it back on, I’ve noticed immediate improvement in its performance. Yes, I could finally watch YouTube without the fans running hard and the thing heating up for once in a REALLY long time.

So despite being so incredibly tired, I’m pretty happy that this laptop’s working better, and will work better until I can get my ‘new’ one. YAY.

little_chef: Haha, dust bunnies… now JustSoWall-e and I can say we told you so (to physically clean your computer)! Glad things are working out for ya.

Current Mood: World Cup opening ceremony starts in 5 minutes! My bro and I will be on the couch beside ourselves with excitement!

Excited. First day of work tomorrow.

Thanks, thedriveintheatre! Those are some pretty good perks of the job! I’d love to write for my university, that’s a great idea.

And congrats on your new job, Czarine!

Pfff, TDIT… of course you’d remember that post from way-back-when and be there to throw it in my face after I finally buckle down and take your advice…

Yeah, I’m pretty happy it’s working… now hopefully we won’t have problems transferring stuff off of it and onto another device… the new 1 TB external drive, perhaps…?

Mood: Tired and kind of frustrated

Reason: I went to bed super late last night; it was probably around 1:30 AM or so, after staying up all night helping Mom and her friend with the dumb Touchsmart. She let me sleep in until 9:30 this morning because she knew I had a long night - thank God for not having any school.:stuck_out_tongue:

Frustrated because she started getting all mad at me just because I don’t know what time I’m supposed to have a meeting with someone at church today. My grandmother is going to pick me up and bring me over (since we have the girls’ after-school program in the same town, so we’ll already be in town for that), and I completely forgot what time she was supposed to come get me, so I’m entirely without a time schedule here. My Mom gets all upset over the dumbest things, though, so I shouldn’t be upset, but it always makes me upset and feel stupid when she acts like this towards me, like it was my fault I forgot what time I’m supposed to be there.

Grahhh. I’ll leave her to her computer and just not bother her, cuz when she gets mad, I get mad, and then she gets even more mad at me and… it’s just not fun. She’ll deny she acts like that too. Blah, mothers sometimes, huh? :unamused:

Mood: Happy
Reason: I’m on high-speed internet! I visited the chat room for the first time…nobody was there. Cool smilies though. I found a dog and I named him Bob. He saved me from a ninja. And I’m listening to some of my favorite songs.

Mood: Happy.

Reason: Just ONE week more!

Argh… I want to get a bigger external hard drive! Actually I already have two, but with my huge video files I use to make my mash-ups (some of them are over 10 GB!), I run out of space easily. Maybe it’s time to do some house-cleaning…

I have a black, brick-shaped 250 GB Western Digital and a sleek, white 500 GB Maxtor. Guess what drive names I gave them?

My mum’s kinda whiny too. She always rats out my misbehaviours to my dad so I get the ‘Third Degree’ from him. :stuck_out_tongue:

What an awesome dog!

Lucky you, still a fortnight for Kangaroo Land. :frowning:

Current Mood: Happy

So I finished my mash-up, but I’m spent and I just feel like relaxing after a heavy dinner (If there’s anything good to come out of this miserably cold weather, it’s that I have a bigger appetite and put more pounds on this skinny body). I may wake up early tomorrow to upload it and join a Chat-O-Rama session, so stay tuned!!!

Still a MONTH for the Britain which when it comes to movies doesn’t appear so Great!

Mood: Bored
Reason: One Flatmate in Download Festival. Two Flatmates at Work. Three Flatmates at Home. I have no one as my other friends on Campus are all in work!
And then I can’t find anyone to talk to… to liven up my opportunities and experience for the day! Although having seeing no artwork in my thread I think something needs to be corrected! And Corrected quickly!

I’ sorry about you. We should make a campaign called “No country gets left behind”.

I am lucky this time. But with WALL·E, for instance, I had to wait almost two months.

Anyway, I’m six days away

Up (as everyone may remember from last years problems) 5 months! Near enough half a year… the US had the movie on DVD and BR before i had sat in the cinema!

but a campaign may be worth shouting for!

Mood: A bit shaken up… :shake:

Reason: It was almost exactly what I expected, and the reason why I don’t trust external drives - I turned on my computer this morning, a bit wary about the idea of having that external drive still plugged in, but turned it on anyway since Mom said hers never gave her problems on startup.

So I turned on the computer, and I’m not really sure why I expected it to happen, but I did, and it happened - the first screen on bootup hung, just like it did when my hard drive supposedly failed in Jan '09. I just stood there shaking my head like, “You’ve got to be kidding me.” Even if the whole thing failed, it wouldn’t have been a big deal because I backed up absolutely everything just last night.

It wouldn’t do anything, the light on the front didn’t even indicate hard drive activity, so I reached in behind the computer and turned the power switch to ‘off’. Then I unplugged everything from the external drive and rebooted. That time, the computer got past the first boot screen then asked me how I wanted to boot. I told it to boot with normal settings and then everything came up fine.

So I’m not really sure why the hard drive being on would have interfered with my PC’s bootup, but it did, and that’s exactly what happened the last time I had an external drive and it crashed in that very same instance. The next time I turn off that computer, I’ll be sure to unplug the external drive as well until I need it.

Current Mood: Insanely, incredibly, wonderfully blessed and happy :-D)

Reason: I’ve been on Summer Vacation for a little while now, so I’m happy! And I’ve had the most incredible day EVER!!! This was definitely the BEST B-Days Ive ever had, bar none, absolutely, on questions asked, period. I went to MGM (now known as Hollywood Studios), and I got to see the Incredibles!!! I went in my super suit, so that was really cool. But, the best, best part of the whole thing, I got to live out a dream! A lot of times, when I’m all dressed up like that, kids will come up to me and ask for autographs, and, sadly, I have to turn them down because of copyright issues and getting in trouble with Disney. But this time, when we were in line, this little girl (who was apparently a cancer patient as she was mostly bald and in a wheelchair) comes up, and asks to take a picture. Well, we had been talking with a cast member, so I looked over at him, as usually they’ll yell at us. But would you believe he actually sad yes! So I went over a took a picture with her. After that, it when through the sky. Kids and their parents started coming up one after the other with autograph books and cameras. And, I actually was aloud to do it! I got to be a character for the day!!! Words couldn’t even explain how happy I was! I was beaming ear to ear. I was so happy to be making kids’ days. To really know how much this meant to me, ya gotta understand, I’ve had that dream for so long, of dressing up as Violet and signing autographs and making kids happy, but because I’m underage to work there, I normally couldn’t do anything like that, but I always kept thinking, Okay, it can happen. It can happen! And it finnaly did!!!

Then I finally got to see Frozone and Mr. Incredible (as the Mrs. was taking a brake), and they were so excited! I think they were happier than I was! So we horsed around a little, talked, took pictures, etc… Then we went down to take pictures with Lotso, the new bear from Toy Story 3, because he was right there and I hadn’t gotten my picture with him yet. I think he was happy to see another Pixar character. When we were done there, Mrs. I had come back out, so I went to get pictures with her (on the way, I was stopped again for pictures). I got to go see Mr. and Mrs. Incredible, and they were so happy to see me! Actually, I think the Mrs. new me from before  . And while we were talking, I started thinking, You know, I’d love to get to do a split and see if Elastigirl would do it, too. Me and Mom talked about it before… Oh, well, I’ll probably have to go soon, I won’t get to do it… Meanwhile, Mr. Incredible’s all hyper and everything, and he goes down into an almost-spilt.

And, this just goes to show how God opens opportunities everywhere. Mom up and says, “You should be down there doing a split with him!” So, I do. And would you believe, the first one to go down and do it with me, not Mrs. I, But Mr. Incredible?!

So I’m sitting there laughing my head off, and then both me and Mr. Incredible (my second father) start looking and Mrs. Incredible, like “You gonna do it too, Stretch?” She’s standing there, kinda shaking her head (I think she was trying not to laugh, 'cause they’re not allowed to talk under the heads). So she finnaly comes down, and does it too. So we got a picture of all three of us doing splits together! I got up and I said, “I didn’t think Mr. Incredible was gonna do it!” Oh, I was so happy! Then, on the way out, I did like one or two more pictures and autographs, but got stopped right before we left by a manager (Thank God, she was nice about it, because we’ve had people come up and be really rude about it.). So I went out, put my normal cloths back on top, and we left. I changed into something cooler, we ate, waited for Dad to come home from work, then went back. I got to ride Rocking Roller Coaster twice! And Got to spend the beginning part of the day with my Papa and Nana (when we rode the Toy Story ride together).

Then, yesterday, I spent some time with my friends. It was my best friend, another good friend of mine, my God sister, and her older brother and sister and their mom (who are also my friends). We had cake and ice cream with them and my Mom and Dad and Papa and Nana, and watched Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland” (for the third time this week, P.S. I love this movie!!!). Then Mom took us all roller blading (Papa, Nana, and Dad stayed behind). We went, and had a blast! They played the song I requested: “Bad Romance” by Lady Gaga. And I got my favorite drink: a slushy! That’s to me like a Caf-Pow is to Abby! We had so much fun! Then when we left, we took two of my friends home. And I got to see both their puppies  ! I stayed at my best friends house for a little and we socialized. I got to play their keyboard (with some help from light up keys :stuck_out_tongue: ). I Played “My Heart Will Go On” and the “Star Wars” theme song. Got to see their drawings (as her and her little sister both draw very well). And we just hung out. When me and Mom finnaly got home, it was past midnight. I’ve never been out of the house that late before unless we were traveling somewhere! And I got a lot of really cool gifts!

So, yeah, needless to say, I’m way more than tickled pink  ! I’m so freaking happy right now! And that’s not even the end of it! I’m awaiting a special present from a very special friend  ! So, the celebration continues… Thank God for such wonderful people and opportunities! And, I know, I talk to much :unamused::wink:

Off-topic: I had to wait for 5 months for Up to come out here. Lucky for me, the difference between the US release Toy Story 3 and the release in the Netherlands is just 5 days, which is quite much of an improvement. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m still sad about the HTTYD DVD-release though. It’s in November over here, I can’t BEAR to wait that long! :frowning:

ANYWAY: I am happy! Today was my first day of work and it was cool. I wouldn’t say it was ‘fun’, but I did meet a few nice people and made some friends. Everyone was very nice and I get to make a decent amount of money.

My 12" Cintiq is coming closer and closer…

Wow, sounds like you’ve had the best couple of days ever, Violet Parr! And for you to have a chance to actually BE Violet…That’s just amazing. No wonder you’re so happy!

Glad to hear you had a good first day at work, Czarine. It’s amazing how many friends you can make from work, so you can be earning money and having fun at the same time.

Mood: Happy and relaxed.

Reason: Been doing a lot of work lately, both at home and at my job, so it was nice to go for dinner and bowling with some work mates yesterday. I may be rubbish at bowling, but it was still fun!
