Current Mood

skunklover: Mmmm… Vinegar…
Sorry to hear you got stung by a wasp! Oh, aren’t they just “fun”…

~&~

Excited and Bleh

I never thought those two could be put together… Anywho, I’ve just finished organizing the Pixar Planet Movie Night for this week, which is a feat that has not been done, as last year we were also choosing movies a few days before hand… I’ve also learned how to play a song on my ukulele, which is always fun.

Now, it’s off to write the paper for Government! :~o

Content and dead from many laughing fits. :stuck_out_tongue:

Mood: Happy and anxious

Recently went on a small vacation to Universal Studios in California. Awesomeness- though still doesn’t beat Disneyland for me because I think there should be more attractions. And yet, I spent a whole day there. Also recently finished a stressful project. AND one of my friends finally came back from her mission trip in China, safely.
Anxious because my sister’s birthday’s coming up, and I want to make a mini crossover video for her, but the DVD I requested the library to put on hold STILL hasn’t come (couldn’t find it good quality anywhere else)

Mood: Really excited!
Reason: Played some Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes on the Xbox 360!!! And on Master mode all by myself! (I played it before with my brother, but on Padawan mode)

Sounds like fun, I’ve always wanted to go there!

Mood: Proud

Reason: First day of County Fair! I had a blast watching my sister and other members from my town’s FFA show their lambs. My sister got 1st place in her weight class, and then went on to try to win champion for her breed. She didn’t win, but we’re so proud of how well her sheep behaved, and for getting 1st in her weight class.

Ouch, that sucks skunklover! I can’t stand wasps. The vinegar may not smell good, but hopefully it will help with the pain!

bright dot-dasher- Wow, Universal Studios. I’ve always wanted to go there! Glad you had a good time.

Congratulations to your sister, ellie-jessie-eve!

Mood: Exhausted.

Reason: Very good night last night, at a friend’s housewarming, but we didn’t get much sleep to say the least. It’s so strange that they’ve actually got a house now, it seems like such an adult thing…I kept going to my friend, ‘this is your house! YOUR HOUSE!’ At 19, it’s a real novelty.

Excited but tired… ^^

Yeah lots of “fun”. But the vinegar did help.

ellie-jessie-eve- Congrats on the sheep!

Mood: Disappointed
Reason: My mom told me I won’t get to take art classes anymore because my dad’s work hours are being cut back and we won’t be able to afford it. :`-(

I’m so sorry to hear that hugs

Mood: Exhausted
Reason: Spent the day bathing, blow drying, and clipping my two steers. A week until fair!

Do you know I’m incredibly jealous of you right now, Mitch? :imp:

lizardgirl: To think I’ll be ‘leaving the nest’ in less than a year’s time… I’m trying to read as many investment and personal finance books as I can to prepare for the ‘real world’… but darnit, compound savings and capital-gains tax aren’t the most interesting things to read about when you’re not earning any money yet (though it does kind of make me excited)!

ellie-jessie-eve: Congrats to your sis!

thewisecookiesheet: Good luck with the PPMN!

BDD: Having spoken from experience, Universal Studios is one of the best places to be in Cali (next to a certain other theme park, of course)! I personally recommend the Terminator 2, Shrek 4-D and the Jurassic Park rides. I was fortunate enough to have experienced the Back to the Future Ride before it closed down, and although the rest of my family disliked it cos it smelt weird and was old, it held a nostalgic value of me (and the fact it’s one of my favourite movies). Not sure if the Backdraft attraction is still open since Wiki says it’s closing down, but the explosion demonstrations are really cool. And the stunts for the Waterworld show were spectacular! But I think the one my siblings and I enjoyed the most unequivocally was The Mummy Returns Ride. If you have to go for only one ride, it’s this one. We had so much fun screaming at the ghouls and when the ride ran in reverse, that we went a second time!

Current Mood: Annoyed but anticipatory
Annoyed because my parents are still treating me like a kid, reminding me when to leave for class, fetching me water even though I know when I’m thirsty, and telling me to sleep at 11 when every other uni student I know turns in much later. I know they’re just looking out for me, but I do go to class on time, know when to rehydrate myself and sleep around midnight plus compared to my friends who crash at 2 and wake at like 1 in the afternoon. I’m almost a grown-up for crying out loud! They still haven’t gotten out of ‘parental nagging’ mode (and I don’t think they ever will, judging by my grandparents :unamused:).

Anticipatory because my sis and I are going to town to get a gift for my bro on his birthday this Saturday. Shh, it’s a secret! And we’ll probably go whale-watching on the day as a family outing, and I’m hoping to rope in some ‘earlier-reluctant’ mates to watch Inception on Sunday (Argh… the wait is killing me!).

Mood: pretty excited, yet confused
Well, It’s my birthday in 9 days! Woohoo! Time to go shopping for sleepover stuff. :stuck_out_tongue:
But I’m getting confused. My forgetful friend still hasn’t let me know if she can come, so let’s hope she calls me soon.

Aww… I can’t stand when that happens… I hope she answers soon! :unamused: Well, happy birthday! (nine days early  )

Thanks, Snipe!
Mood: even more confused
My orthodontist sent me a birthday card. It’s the picture that’s plain confusing. It’s a picture of teeth with braces on them. Sounds normal, but there are candles stuck in the top of the teeth… now that’s weird. At least the teeth aren’t smiling or anything.
And my friend still hasn’t called.

K9Girl: Happy early birthday! And I know what you’re talking about, those lame postcards from orthodontists/docters/optometrists/dentists. I hope your friend calls you soon!

thedriveintheater: Sorry to hear that your parental units are treating you like that, mabye you should talk to them about how you feel? And I hope you enjoy Inception

Mood: Exhausted, kind of sick

Reason: Long day!

  1. Went to the fair to watch my sister’s sheep showmanship. She put up a fight and got 6th place. She got a ribbon. I don’t know if y’all know much about showing sheep, but it’s basically wearing a courdoroy jacket in 80 degree heat with a 130 lb lamb pushing against you while a judge is staring you down. She did very well, considering her lamb was misbehaving.

Ooo, highlight of my day: Seeing a Momma cow and her baby calf. The baby was just an hour old!

  1. Went to my college bookstore and bought some of my textbooks. $150 for four books! I have to go back and buy more that were out of stock. There goes more money, thank the Lord for scholarship money!

  2. Bathed and Blowdried both of my steers again, and worked on showmanship for 2 hours.

  3. Looking forward to an evening of lounging around watching Invader Zim! Then waking up tommorrow to go back to the fairgrounds for sheep auction.

thedriveintheatre and ellie-jessie-eve - Ha-ha. Don’t worry, guys! I’m sure you’ll get to attend the Comic-Con at some point! I’ll upload some pictures from the event so that you can live some of the awesomeness.

Current Mood: Upset… and overwhelmed.

Reason: I’m overwhelmed because I got way too many things for my birthday… and because my friends were so kind to me. To say that I am thankful for such a great family and many wonderful friends is a severe understatement.

I’m upset because there’s a fictional character who shares some personality traits and a piece of life history with me – traits and a history that I’m not proud of. I see myself in that character, and I hate it…

– Mitch

Mood: Alright, feeling older

Reason: America’s Got Talent was awesome last night (If any of you watched it, I was there about 5 rows behind the judges, so yeah, that was cool). I actually thought the coolest part of the whole thing was seeing how the whole TV show works, cuz you never think about stuff like that when your watching it on TV. Also, Nick Cannon walked right by me when the show was over, and I was just like :open_mouth:

Then today I went to take a tour of a college in downtown LA, and the guy gave me a bunch of stuff to fill out to see if I can apply to go to college there (which I don’t even know if I will go there). But it’s a really nice college and it’ll teach me what I need to learn and more. And I guess just being on a college campus makes me feel older.

Current Mood: Great

So I’m really surprised to hear a Pixar reference in the latest episode of my favourite Aussie cop drama Rush. There was an accidental Up poster cameo in the background last season, but this one’s more intentional, ie the reference is actually said in the lines of one of the characters! You can read more about it in the ‘TV Shows You Watch’ thread (or you can click my sig link), but it’s great to see how Pixar has permeated pop culture, even to the extent of a police procedural set in Melbourne!

And my sis and I got our brother’s birthday present in town this morning. It’s a men’s fitness book, seeing how he’s such a jock, I think he’s gonna love it!

Aaand iPhone is here in Oz! Can’t wait for my next trip to the city and get my hands on a demo unit in the Apple Store!

Mood: bad reason: my jaw hurts so bad, it hurts to tlak and to eat even open it… though my mood isnt totally bad… im supposed to go to Kings Dominio soon ( though its no Disney World/Land…) it has a lot of rides cramed together… going to try and ride the Intimantor 305…(yeah) should be fun… want to wish everyone a good day

Have a good time, mopar!

Tired… stupid jobs. :frowning:
