DarkWing Duck

I Loved this cartoon DarkWing Duck as a kid and still do as an adult it was one of Disney’s Great cartoons after Tale Spin,an before Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers,Ducktales,Mighty Ducks,Lilo And Stitch,The Emperor’s New School, Buzz lightyear OSC, in my Heart,Spirit. it aired in Fall September 1991.

The episodes to me although funny more than not, also at times dealt with strong stories, and indepth scripts, screen plays, like the episodes Duck Blind shows DarkWing Duck suffer and face A time of Blindness do to mega volt causing it by intence
razes of light.

DarkWing has to get over his pity and stuggles with
blindness,to learn to accept his disability an then be taught to use it to overcome things an his fears of self worthlessness,in the end DarkWing Duck does get his sight back.

And Life,The Nega Verse and Everything deals with A darker sorta step through the mirrior world were everything is not the same as it was in DarkWing Duck’s world including the fearsome 5 our good? and help DarkWing duck to defeat Nega Duck an find away back to his own Time and Reality.

Steelmaster has DarkWing Duck learning how to Live with using, getting around in A wheel Chair,an at the same time having to settle A score with A old Arch Enemy Tarus, now a half human robot.

I also love the Deepness,Moving Dead Duck episode were it handles what it would be like if DarkWing Duck was dead, after he got in A motor cycle Accident, because he didn’t take his daughters heeds to wear one while driving around Saint Conard, it is A very touching episode that shows and reveals the loss of DarkWing Duck in dream sequences, that makes me wish that More Episodes were a little more deeper and indepth with story, script, screen play in DarkWing Duck.

The Last one that I will talk about, that really was something amazing was the Episode Clash Reunion, were both DarkWing Duck and Mega Volt attend the same Class Reunion, and we get some real Emotional insight on the real way DarkWing Duck feels, attains about things, when he’s unmasked by Mega Volt.

An it displays and actions out DarkWing Duck who to everyone seem to take anything,is now sinking away into A corner affraid of the world an feeling alone an rejected by people that know now who is is,atleast until the end.

DarkWing Duck was a cartoon I could watch an Love because it was Comdey/Drama all in one, it could be Funny and even Serious at certain times and places through out the whole series.

I could talk about so much more on this, sorry for going on about to long, didn’t mean to,I just love talking about it so much.

so what do you think of DarkWing Duck, any fans, none fans of the terror that flaps in the night DarkWing Duck on this board, if so I would love here from you.

Oh my gosh, I just love DarkWing Duck. It’s just like you said: funny and serious at once. Although there is one thing in the German translation I didn’t like. In DuckTales, Gizmoduck was known as Krachbummente (Kaboomduck) but in DW he’s known as Dingsbummsduck (which ius the actual translation of Gizmoduck). Wouldn’t it be better if they stuck by one name instead of two different?

Nevertheless I love the show. I think it’s funnier than most TV shows of today. DWs different than the other heroes. He is so concerned about his image that you just can lsugh about him. And I really love his “I am the terror that flaps in the night…” qutoes. My favorites are the two in Days of Blunder, although I think the first one was funnier in the German version. There he said “Ich bin die holländische Bedienungsanleitung zu deinem japanischen Videorecorder!” (“I am the Dutch manual of your Japanse video recorder!”).

Ooh, how I love the show <3

I always thought that to,why do they keep changing the names from 1 to another, just because the premise is in a different back ground and setting. That’s cool how you know the German version of DarkWing Duck’s names and sayings, it’s a education to me to know of this, I love Days Of Blunder, and Stress To Kill seems to be A Sequel type script to Days Of Blunder to me in A sotra way.

Both had to do with A Phycitrist (I might of not got that word right) and getting DarkWing Duck to take on A personality change, the 1st one was about Quaker Jack acting like A Phycitrist, causing DarkWing Duck to switch roles with Another Guy. and the 2nd one was with Quaker Jack and this time also teamed with Mega Bolt, acting As Hypnosist’s Hypnotisizing DarkWing Duck into A take it easy going no excitment, danger of any kind person,so they could have there play and get A charge (I couldn’t help that play on words there,I figure that it would be fitting with Quaker Jack and Mega Volt) with and out of Saint Conard.

There our so many more, episodes and the parts and places in them,I remember an could commune about all day,but I will have to save that for another time, life for now has to go on and I with it must go to,see you later, talk again soon.

Have A wonderful,peaceful,blessed day Witch-of-Night.

I don’t remember watching the show much - I just remember the theme song.

Check the avatar and signature. Darkwing Duck (he always insisted when introducing himself to agents or the press that the “w” not be capitalized, lol) premiered in 1991, and since then, I’ve never not been a fan.

I absolutely loved darkwing duck!
Even tough it aired here in holland a long time ago and it was all dubbed in Dutch, it was still one of the best disney cartoon series ever made. The great quotes used whenever he would come into the scene with his puff of blue smoke always got me laughing.

I was never into this cartoon, but just recently, I really got into his intro theme song. I listened to it 15 straight times in a row. It has got a catch.

Cool Avatar that is really creative, it has most of my favorite statements darkwing duck used in certain episodes, also I never caught that no Cap W in darkwing thing part, said by Darkwing Duck in the series,an you think as much as I have watched it through the years,I would have,I hope Darkwing Duck doesn’t come after me for using A Cap W in his name

I glad you like this cartoon, Darkwing Duck was A great cartoon in it’s own right (meaning to me and some others it was the greatest)to others it might be just alright or A ok cartoon, others just one of there favs but not the best,an the others might just like the song or they might not like it at all, all our welcome to love it or hate it,I wont get down on anyone here for it :astonished:

it is A neat song, it really goes in another direction from the Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers and Talespin theme songs doesn’t it, Im glad you like the Darkwing Duck song intro, an I understand completely about you not getting into the cartoon, I used to not like Talespin when it 1st came out in 1990, then in 2004 I really got into it after watching it on Toon Disney before they removed it off the main rotation.

But im glad that they since have returned it to atleast SuperStack Weekends, but then again I have the Dvds of Talespin burned from TV and Bought now, so why do I want it to still air on TD, I have the answer to that for you, I want it to air for those that dont have enough means to get the Talespin Dvds yet (they our kinda pricey to afford upon release,I waited myself for a year an A half to buy Vol. 1 and then Vol. 2 was given to me as A gift from my uncle)so for that reason alone Im glad it still airs on TD every now an then.

have a great and blessed and pleasent day The Star Swordsman.

I always love the Blue puff of smoke thing an the many Quotes were floor rollers as well huh, you could tell that Disney really had fun with Darkwing Duck story wise and in screen play wise it would take so many directions an areas, you never knew what to expect, an the way that Episode 3 - Beauty and the Beat started the series off it was pure perfection an masterful, that episode had me hooked on the series beyond the pilot Darkwing Dawns The Duck - Darkwing Duck the movie that aired in 1991 September.

one of my favorite parts in that episode was when Darkwing Duck tells the professor lady he is never is wrong as he plays checkers, an he is beating by A robot playing checkers that tells him King him haaaa, heee that was great,my dad loves that part to, he is A Huge fan of Darkwing Duck as well.

you think that the pilot movie would keep me watching more than the 1st episode did, but im dum like that :stuck_out_tongue:  , for me it had to prove itself more than the pilot movie did to keep me watching an it did an I keep watching an the rest is history,an now you know the whole the story of how I became A fan of Darkwing Duck an still am today.

have a great and pleasent day Vekoma.

Edited by KE to combine quadruple post

You mean the terror that flies in the night? Ha! I didnt watch this show a whole lot when it was on, but my friend Dawn recently got season 1 on dvd and we watched it sometime ago. Darkwing Duck is cool (even though he’s a little clueless) Besides, the show has more voicework by the amazing Jim Cummings, who seems to be in almost every Disney TV show at some point (maybe not now, but at least during the late 80s/ 90s)

For the first time yesterday, I saw Darkwing Duck. I have to say I really enjoyed watching him. Cute cartoon.

Holy smokes, I used to watch that series as a kid. I still have a Darkwing Duck magnifying glass in the house/garage somewhere… (snigger)

I LOVE DarkWing Duck . My favorite characters have always been DarkWing and Megavolt, though Goslun was cool too.

I’m going to start buying this show on DVD.

Megavolt is my favorite. He Rulz !!! :sunglasses:

I was just thinking about Darkwing Duck the other day! I ended up watching the intro sequence on YouTube a few times in a row. I used to love that show!

I used to LOVE this show! A little while ago me and my sister were talking about it, and watched the theme song on youtube. We hadn’t heard it in so long. It makes me want to see the show again sometime.^^

I’ve noticed the theme song of D-wing Duck can really pump me up and energized to do anything.

This is one of those shows where the general tone makes me love it.

When I was little, I hated the theme song (can’t remember why…), but recently, I watched it and loved the characters.

Drake Mallard was a protagonist you could care about. The villains were fun to watch. Bushroot was an interesting character. Oh, and the episodes were fun. Basically, I loved it for the characters. The guy who created the characters ( I forgot the name; I have to find the website again) should keep working on animation.

Interesting fact: That guy I mentioned earlier said that Quackerjack wasn’t insane enough to his proposed character. :open_mouth: I guess this means that if an awesome character seems to act oddly, ti’s the writers’ fault (this explains any complaints about Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, for which he created characters for.)

Wait, did everyone already know my conclusion about the writers? Am I just slow?

the mans name that was one of the Creators of Darkwing Duck and the charters is the Great Tad Stones the other guy that helped, his name Alan Burnant or something like; that left to make Batman - TAS series at the time back in the early 1990’s; over at Warner Bros. Animation. hope that helps you out A bit; I know how hard it is myself to find the creators names to certain cartoons on the net.

I cant help but wonder if Darkwing Duck would of taken on A more Drama approch if Alan stayed. well you never know. anyway I to love how Tad Stones created these Crazy Charaters that we could love. an I to Love Bushroot and also Mega Volt and Crackjack as my Favs Villians an that Wallrous guy and Jumbillia Jack were funny to. talk more later.

I used ot watch this show when i was younger. I loved it!

I remember I was in my college computer lab playing the DWD opening theme for about half an hour straight. it has been stuck in my head for the rest of the day.
