DayCare Trailer Comparison

Just a little fun thing I noticed that shows the movie’s development. If you compare the scenes where the Jack-in-the-box says “New Toys!” in both the second and third official trailers, you will be able to notice an amazing amount of differences between the two. The lighting is completely different, half of the toys are missing and many are colored differently. Also, I noticed that the Mr. Ray toy in the second trailer (who is located on the bottom shelf) phases through the surface he is bouncing on. Just a production error I’m glad that they caught and fixed. I also like how no Lego Mini-figures appear in the second official trailer. I think it kinda shows that at that time in production, they had not acquired the rights to have Legos in the film. The only consistent thing between both variations of that scene are [spoil]the placement of Stretch, Twitch, the Jack-in-the-Box, and the unnamed rock-like character[/spoil]. Anyone else find this intriguing, and could anyone provide screen shots in order to compare the two more easily?

I saw a Lego minifig in the new trailer, look at the part with Mrs. Potato head squeezing Twitchs arm.

Out of curiosity, do you know if Stretch is the official name for that character or is it just speculation?

I’m thinking Stretch is the official name for that character, but I could be wrong.

I meant the second trailer released. The one from a while ago.

Here’s some pics:

but it’s kinda hard to see the details because the pictures are so small :stuck_out_tongue:

I prefer the older ones myself. Something about them seems right.

I think the Buzz one is interesting. Perhaps the blue-ish lighting was pretty easy to do in time for the trailer, and they just had to click a few buttons to do that. Notice in the new trailer, his wings blink now, which means during the blue version they weren’t finished anyways.

What would have really looked good was to have the blinking lights go off in the more darker lighting from before.

Yup. its more warm and inviting. and I get a vague sense that Ive been there before. I want to go to that first one. the second one feels more like a prision. which could very well be the point of the change, but its too hard to tell right now.

Very interesting points, Small Mailman! Although this is best discussed in the Official Teaser/Trailer Dicussion thread, so I’ll lock this one up and discussion about this can be continued there.
