this to come out!
Haha – the title for this thread completely
threw me off at first… (snigger)
Wow – dang! That actually looks…pretty good. The effect are out of
this world, let me tell ya’. And the plot doesn’t sound half bad…to tell you the truth. Too bad I’m not
crazy about the films, though. I saw Curse of the Black Pearl and (apologies
Pirate fans) hated it; naturally, I didn’t even bother to see the second one. But
this third installment? Hmm… Well, I’m starting to think twice. Does look kinda funny, actually…
“Will you marry me?” - Will
“I don’t think this is the best time!” -
Elizabeth

And yes – Geoffrey Rush is
back!!! Thought he was gone for good…
I do have to admit that that Johnney Depp is a funny guy.
![]()
Ah, it’s a shame you didn’t see Dead Man’s Chest.
His return is amazing ![]()
As for At World’s End, I’m officially very
excited to see this movie. It’s gonna be awesome ![]()
That was kind of the point… I like giving things interesting titles
that leave you wondering exactly what could be inside… I’ve given some papers some pretty interesting titles
(like calling a paper on A Midsummer Night’s Dream "Crazy Little Thing Called
Love" after the Queen song).
Well, if you’re going to see the third one, you need to see the second one
first, since the end of Dead Man’s Chest leads right into the beginning of
At World’s End. Otherwise, you’ll be pretty lost.
It’s (somewhat) explained in DMC… well,
introduced, at least.
Oh I gotta see this movie. I just saw the trailer and I must say, I am totally impressed. I
just can’t wait for it.
Yeah, I really, really
ought to see the first two again before seeing the third one. I’ve always liked the characters, but I could
never really get into the story, but I know I’ll probably be dragged along to see it with my friends anyway!

If you haven’t seen the Competing Captains
clip, you better. It was great!!! Pure Jack Sparrow, right there!!! ![]()
Oh yeah, I’ve
seen it - hilarious! But beyond that, the movie site is up! There isn’t much you can do at the moment, but
they’ve got some film stills, wallpapers, and such. Looks pretty killer…
Anyway, I really should be
getting to bed…
Edit: I went back this morning, and you can do quite a bit more than I originally
thought - just click on the door of the hut in the center of the screen…
KE (concerning your second post):
1. Oh yes –
agreed. I sometimes do the same thing when I write stories; it gives the audience something to ponder while
they’re reading the tale at the same time…
2. Yep, that’s for sure. I
hate to watch a sequel if I haven’t even seen its predecessor yet, which is why I will (more than likely) rent
Dead Man’s Chest before I view World’s End…if I
even decide to go and see it at all. I do like to know a bit of backstory first before I delve into something
new…
3. Again, I’ll have to take a look at Dead Man’s
Chest one of these days…
But yeah – other than that, I’m not really a
“Pirates” fan. Once I realized that the first film was partially centered
around a romantic story I went, “Oh no…”. So yeah, we’ll see what happens when the newest
installment is released. I might go see it for the effects, at least, if not for the humor… (snigger)
I have a confession to make you guys. I have watched the trailer about 10+ times already. How
maky times have you guys seen the trailer to this?
Probably about 20, at least - I keep showing it to everyone I know, and whenever I check my "Pirate
Player" that I downloaded for new videos, I just have to sit through the
trailer again. ![]()
Mitch: Without getting
into too much detail about Dead Man’s Chest, I will say that the romantic subplot
is there, and it does get pretty twisted towards the end, especially in the last scene aboard the
Pearl. I still say you should give it a shot. The action is worth it. Plus,
Norrington (my favorite <3 ) got a whole lot cooler. I just hope all that coolness doesn’t go away in the
third one…
Eeeehhhh.
I though tthe trailer was
okay…But…I dunno. It felt too fast paced and zany, and tried to stuff way too much into it, IMHO. Felt very
overwhelming to me.
I saw the trailer like 10 minutes after it was released… Soooo excited.
Btw,
Mitch, I know you didn’t like the first one but if you’re gonna see the third one
and if you’re gonna see the second one to understand the third one… you may need a bit of a refresher on the
first one as well.
I got into the Pirates extravagganza with the second film… and boy did I get into it.
I’m obsessed now. And I had seen the first before I saw the second… but it was like a year ago. So… some
parts were hard to get and you miss out on some of the jokes.
The trailer was amazing too… and trailers
are supposed to be overloaded and fast paced. It’s what gets your heart pounding
and makes you want to watch it! It does suck, cause they cut out of a scene right when you’re really interested
in it… but do note that these people want your money. Hahah.
I hope the
third one is better than the second one… ![]()
Meg – Yeah, here’s hoping!
I thought the first was more of a
pirate and sailing movie…kinda a high seas adventure. The second one introduced
sorta a mystical aspect - that I now question looking back. ![]()
JamieLew - Heheh – trust
me: I watched the thing five or more times and I still can’t seem to like it. When
I do watch it it’s just for the action and the comedy and “hilariousness” of it. You know, stuff like:
“You cheated!” - Will
“Pirate.” - Jack
Now
that’s great stuff right there! But other than that, I was rather bored by the
first one. It seems as if the second film is a tad more adventurous, however, so I might give it a shot. ![]()
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl was amazing. The second one
definitely didn’t impress me as much, but it was good enough that it actually got me interested in watching the
third one.
The box office people must be really happy this year - they have POTC3 coming out, along with
Spider-Man 3, Shrek the Third, The
Simpsons Movie, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, and of
course, Ratatouille. I’m not saying that all of these films will be good, but I can
pretty much assure you that they will all rake in a ton of dough. (Of course, I’m really more concerned about
the quality of the film, as always).
