I have finally got around to update this page with more differences
. It is mostly differences like the first one where the name “Lightning” have been left out, though, but anyone who’s interested can take a look
, just click here
Someone told me one time that in other languages, the word lightning is a feminine noun (some languages all nouns are either masculine or feminine) and it would be weird for a male race car to have a feminine name.
Um…like Chick Hicks for example?
LOL…I have always wondered why they gave him that name. No wonder he has an inferiority complex and needs to win all the time.
That’s probably it…would explain the mustache too.
Actually Chick is short for Charles…twas my boss’s father’s nickname.
Most of the difference are to do with “Lightning McQueen” changed to being just “McQueen”, but in regards to other differences, maybe they had trouble translating the puns into other languages? I still think they should have translated “Actual results may take up to 36 weeks”, because that joke is really funny.
“Nice butte” would have been hard to translate, and I think they got rid of the text and replaced it with universal signs so they wouldn’t have to waste time translating. Excuse me if this has already been said.
You mean they didn’t actually visit Australia? That’s a shame… They did a pretty ok job of replicating Sydney, anyway. Although, I don’t remember that many boats being on the harbour when I visited there…
