I don’t understand when people complain that a Pixar movie is too unrealistic. For example, Up’s many balloons. I think that the neat thing about CGI is that you can suspend disbelief better, and Pixar uses that tool well. After all, if they want realistic, haven’t they ever seen WALL-E? What do you think?
I say, if they want realistic, they should watch a live action film! Although not all of those are very realistic either… The thing that makes animation in general unique is that you can do things that can’t be done in real life. You can make up this whole imaginary world and make is seem real. Pixar’s films may not be realistic, but they are very believable. In my opinion, that is far greater than being realistic.
Some people are saying Pixar is too unrealistic?
Have they seen any movie that is released nowadays? I don’t recall the method of time travel being achieved yet…
Or talking animals…
Even if the stories are impossible to happen, Pixar has a way of making it look believable.
This depends on what the person defines as “real”. Are they looking for a more accurate portrayal of characters and objects present in what would be considered “real life”, or are they claiming that the styles of each reality in Pixar’s films fluctuate too much? (compare people Toy Story with The Incredibles) I think that in either situaion, Pixar holds true to “reality”. The worlds they create are stylkistically different, but that style is consistent throughout the entire film. As far as captivating photorealistic scenery, I think that they have been able to successfully balance real scenery (like Paris for Ratatouille) with the scenery they create.
People say Pixar is unrealistic? I never heard that before. If anything, I always hear that Pixar makes things look very real. Like-you-are-actually-there real. But I’m guessing this is more about storyline as opposed to how things look…
