Disney Direct-to-Video Sequels: All I can say is

It’s about time!

Ahahahaaa!!! Yeah, I know! Isn’t it great? My dad told

me the news this morning – that Sharon is out!! Seriously, the employees really did

celebrate at the (Disney Toons) studio… The whole “Ding dong, the witch is dead” thing had me

crackin’ up…

Huzzah!! Thank you, John!!

So…No more rubbishy Disney sequels?

WHOOOO!!!

Now that IS a

cause for celebration!

lizardigirl - Yep! No more stupid

sequels! Sharon was in charge of those bags of garbage, and she was also the lead contributer/honcho of the whole

“Faeries”/Tinkerbell franchise. :unamused:

But now she’s gone! Wooo!!!

YES!!! :smiley::D:D

Yay! That is good! Better no sequel than a

crappy one i say.

Woo-hoo!
*looks at the Jim Hill article and eyes fixed on the "Meet the

Robinsons 2: First Date" thing as a canceled project*
DOH!
Just as well, TV series would probably be

preferable for Robinsons continuation anyway and that wouldn’t be that hard a storyline to cover.

Oh gawd! If Disney

can’t make sequels of Pixar films, than they’ll just go ahead and make them with their own, no matter how

unwarranted. :unamused:

Yeah, John Lasseter is in da house! I always knew that since the whole shake up of

Disney in the past year or so, that Disney wouldn’t be doing any more direct-to-video sequels, so it surprises

me that Meet the Robinsons 2 was in talks. Maybe they just couldn’t help themselves, but it took Lasseter to

show 'em who’s boss now!

I hope Disney becomes another Pixar. That would be rad because they would focus

on story and quality, like in the golden era of Disney.

Robinsons started production a little before Incredibles

came out or a little after. I’m guessing Eisner’s cronies figured they’d think of a sequel just as the movie

was in production. Though I would definitely not mind a continuation of Meet the Robinsons though. And again,

I’d probably prefer a TV series over a DTV sequel. It and Incredibles really need a TV show (and there’s been

rumors of an Incredibles show going around for a while now anyway…) but an actually good one as opposed to crap

like Emperor’s New School.

Disney TV Shows

have not been good since the late 80’s/early 90’s. DuckTales, Chip N Dale, Darkwing, Bonkers, etc. I still

consider to be some of the best cartoon shows ever. But that’s just my opinion.

As far as Disney

Sequels go, the only ones that were ever any good were The Rescuers Down Under, the first and only sequel in the

official canon. And Toy Story 2 which was by Pixar.

The Aladdin sequels weren’t “awful” but I

think it was because they were done by pretty much the same people as the TV Show, which was the only good

cartoon based off a Movie.

The Lilo and Stitch cartoon wasn’t that bad a movie-to-TV show transition. Same for Buzz Lightyear of Star

Command. Really wish they’d get back to early 90’s quality on the TV shows though. I’m really tired of

practically every show on Disney Channel being focused on teens in school (KP is the only exception, probably one

of the few watchable things on that channel).
Another thing I’d like to see (and as a solution to use older

movie characters again) would be a revival of House of Mouse, though actually having segments go beyond Mickey

and Friends and include a whole lot more with the huge variety of characters. Have the same basic framing device

of the club, though made a bit better and use less stock animation, and have the segment format be two random

shorts based on different movies and a Mickey and pals short in between.

Yep, I’ve heard pretty bad things about her, too.

Wonderful news!

Phew! Okay Disney, you now owe me over a decade of

my childhood back! Well, anything before my 10th b-day was great, but those sequels were really getting on my

nerves. I hope they have some great ideas in mind!

Jungle Cubs, Dinosaurs,

etc… I completely agree with you there. I actually used to have fun watching

Disney shows during the early part of my childhood. Nowadays, however… :unamused:

Well, hopefully

everything will get back on track now that Mr. Lasseter is in

charge…

FigmentJedi - I agree with your whole "House of

Mouse" idea. I felt that the show should have included more backstories on the

lesser-known/overlooked characters in the old Disney films. But alas! Who knows if that will ever happen? I hope

it does, though…

I don’t know if he’s technically in charge of Disney Toons. I thought

he was just a de facto “suprevisor”…

Yes, but let me explain this in pictures…

Mr.

Iger —> <3 :whip: <— Mr. Lasseter

Which means Mr. Iger will take Mr. Lasseter’s advice and

piut it into action better than 95% of the time. =D

8D 8D 8D 8D 8D 8D So funny!!! So

that’s what the Whip emoticon is there for!

Dash - Ha! Yeah, I

guess your right! :stuck_out_tongue:

And that is the funniest use of emoticons I have ever seen!

Dash - Puh-ha! That’s great…

ha ha ha, very clever Das. At least i

understand.
