Interesting. I wonder if this has anything to do with
WALL-E at the moment, or if it is just a separate project entirely? It sounds like the latter to me. Hmm…
And Mr. Stanton wants to do a live-action feature? Now that’s interesting. I’d love to see what he
could do with those tools.
Nice find, JV. Thanks for putting it up. ![]()
No problem
Mitch!
If they
do make this, I would guess that it would be an animated picture. After all, isn’t Pixar called Pixar
Animation Studios? But intresting find.
The Star Swordsman - Maybe they will do a live-action/animation feature (ie.
Roger Rabbit style)? Now that would be interesting. I’d love to see one of the
Pixar employees/employers pop up in their own film with one of their characters. ![]()
I am just hoping it is an
animated movie with no live action in it. I love the consistancy that Pixar has right now. I hate to see it
change. (I am such a conservative)
I agree with TSS on this one. A significant part of Pixar’s success is the
high standard of animation they apply to every film and short that they have ever created. It’d be a real shame
for Pixar to loose its trademark, so to speak, so I’d really rather that they stick to animated features.
Has
anybody here read these book(s)?
What are they like?
To me, they don’t look very Pixary.
I guess I need
to go to the Library… ![]()
I’m not really sure what those books are or
what they’re about but they sound interesting. I’m with TSS too, i’d rather just have them do an animated
movie without any live action

Hi
there - new guy around. I really fell into here hunting for info on Pixar’s John Carter of Mars. ( Huge John
Carter Fan ) IMDB has the picture listed as
Full cast and crew for John Carter of Mars
(2009)
Directed by
Andrew Stanton
Bob Peterson (co-director)
Writing credits
Edgar Rice
Burroughs (novel and characters)
Pete Docter story
Bob Peterson story
Andrew Stanton
screenplay
Andrew Stanton story
Produced by
John Lasseter … executive producer
Susan
Montford … producer
Production Companies
Angry Films
Pixar Animation Studios
So 2
directors a, writer and 2 production companies. Seems like they’re doing something differant. I’ve read all the
rumours about live action or motion capture. Have you guys heard any thing else ? - Jeff
Blazegaurd Jeff - Welcome to the boards! ![]()
Yeah, we
heard about this already over there in a topic called “In 2009…”, however thanks for the info!
I
don’t think we knew about this “Angry Films” company being involved… so you got us there!
On
the other hand, IMDB can be a little bit untrustworthy…
Yea I’ve been unsure about IMDB - any idea how it’s supposed to work ? Or really
does… ? - Jeff
Off-Topic - Nope. Often wondered the same thing
myself…I mean, it obviously isn’t run by user submisssions, but it’s about as reliable as one that does.
It’s pretty big, and has a lot of money behind it, but it’s just so darn unreliable sometimes! ![]()
As
for Angry Films, I’m starting to go with Mitch’s theory and say that this film
will have some live-action elements to it. So Angry Films would be the Film company
and Pixar would do the animation. It’s a ton different to what they’ve (or anybody else) been doing. But maybe
they don’t want us to get to comfortable after Wall-E. ![]()
I’ve wondered about the
live action. A John Carter film would be mostly all FX animation anyways.
The Disney CEO Robert Iger
said they’re still figuring it out
and that he thought it might be a mix.
