LEGO Toy Story 2011?

Facts with LEGO Toy Story 2011:
Popular theme.
More adventures can be used.
More minifigures can be made.
(Contradicting 2nd facts against statement) LEGO Star Wars sets continued long after the original films (even before the clone wars) and there’s the Cars short in 2011.

Facts against LEGO Toy Story 2011:
No sets in the (famous?) LEGO 2010/2011 catalog.
The films have been done.

What do you guys think?
Also, do you think they would agree to have characters like Potato Head and Slinky in their sets? As well as other things like the buddy figures?

First, no, they aren’t making anymore Toy Story sets. They’re making Cars now instead, to coincide with Cars 2.

Second, they can’t make Slinky or Potato Head minifigures because of licensing issues with Poof-Slinky and Hasbro respectively.

I don’t think its happening, but I would not be upset if they did. But I still want all the sets except for the trash compacter escape, so this will give me more time to get them. Plus w/ the Lego cars coming out I am sure I will get a few of those sets

I don’t think it’s possible. I only have one lego Toy Story set but Cars 2 is probably going to have a lot of lego sets and cancel out Toy Story. I collect Toy Story replicas.

Please let it be so. They are terrible in IMHO . They could do masterpiece sets with larger adult collectibles and something besides the sets they have out. I guess pure genius in animation doesn’t translate to the licencees .

If a really good idea comes up, they might have a new wave. Again, it’s going to be hard to make areas for toys due to scale issues (it’ll be huge).

Something cool would be putting together different parts of Andy’s room from smaller sets (they did something like that for Star Wars). The only other really climactic scene that would translate well to Lego would be the airplane escape.

IDK, it’s really popular… so anything could happen. I have the Pizza Planet truck w/ Buzz, Rex, Hamm, and Alien, an extra alien, and army dude, and a Woody figure, and I love it all so far. :slight_smile:

I certainly would appreciate more, in addition to the already-existing Woody, Buzz, Hamm, Rex, Alien, Army Man, Jessie, Bullseye, Lotso, Chunk, Twitch, Stretch, and Zurg mini-figures, I would certainly love maybe Barbie, Ken, some of Bonnie’s toys, or some original characters like Bo and Lenny (not including Slinky & Potato Heads).

@abaca I’ve still got the buzz ship and trash compactor to get (and the alien on ship, but that’d be done w/ bricklink/eBay). Maybe I could get the LEGO System Cars sets as well (then again, I don’t have much money for the Collectable minifigures as it is).

@Dinoco THAT’d be cool. I have a LEGO City aeroplane for the scene, but it’s thinner than the garbage truck…
