Actually, Danny Elfman is not composing the score for
Spider-Man 3 - Christopher Young is.
Elfman did the first two, though.
Keep in mind that neither Randy Newman nor Michael Giacchino did the score for
Finding Nemo, and the music in that film turned out to be great (whenever I listen
to that score, I feel as though I’m submerged underwater
). Sure, the guy who did the score, Thomas Newman,
was related to Randy, but he was a different composer nonetheles. My point is, there’s no problem with having a
little variation when it comes to Pixar music, or any other company’s music in general.
With that said, I
now wonder who’s going to do the score for WALL-E… Has it even been revealed
yet?
Totoro - It had been anounced awhile back that Danny will be doing
the music for Spider-Man 3 WITH Christopher Young. Period.
CountSolo- Yeah, I’m curious to see who’s doing WALL-E too, since music will be
very important in a mainly dialogue-free film.
lizardgirl- Maybe
Thomas Newman ? He did Finding Nemo, so why not this?
Not a fan of changes? If your not a fans of changes then you probabily wont
like the enwest Pixar movies coming out, there are a TON of changes, changes are good to spice things up…
(excuse the bad pun)
Mr elfman + Pixar = nothing but good news. I heard the Meet the Robinsons soundtrack,
GEAT stuff. I’m a sucker for soundtracks, and danny elfman rules.
I’m glad so
many people agree with me on this!!! ![]()
Maybe it is according to what crostskates said. many
people love changes.
Anyway, with all films, including films with
dialogue, the score can define the theme and atmosphere of the film. Using the same composers every time means
that Pixar films will end up with a sort of predictable quality, as subconsiously, we will be recognising the
kind of music that will be played, and every composer always has his or her own style that is somewhat
recognisable. Changing composers, especially for Wall-E, will be a very important factor.
