Yeah…I don’t hear it. I guess I’ve just seen both movies way too many times to see a similarity like that. 
I think this are old news, based on those false rumors on Wikipedia. Remember the fuzz about Hoffman and Jack Black a couple of months ago?
If Hoffman was on the project, I think he would have been announced when the other voice actors were.
So what’s left? Maybe Hoffman was going to voice Finn at one point before Caine got in? I doubt it, as Hoffman isn’t British.
Still, I noticed the only actors that were announced were those whose characters appeared on the teaser trailer. And the trailer just focused on the Japan parts of the movie, it appeared to me.
So, there’s still to other characters in more locations. For instance, nobody has announced who will voice the F1 racer that appears on the concept arts, and I believe he’s going to be important, as he’s one of the characters that appears on the teaser poster:
That’s a good point…but it would still be cool to have Dustin Hoffman do voices in two animated sequels I really want to see next year.
