For those interested, yesterday was the Dutch Gala Premiere of WALL-E at the famous Tuschinski Theatre in Amsterdam, official premiere is July 30. I was lucky and fortunate enough to be able to attend this event. I got my soundtrack signed by Andrew Stanton and both Ben Burtt and Andrew were so kind to let my brother take a picture with them. Thank you Mr. Burtt, thank you Mr. Stanton!

Nice… looks like it was a great time.
Just curious: was the film already subtitled, and were there any changes to the actual picture for subtitle purposes (fon instance, changing signs that are in English into Dutch)?
One little thing I noticed watching it again was that some signs and on-screen language would probably need to be changed (such as in the first half, where some of Earth’s old signs are what gives the audience clues to what’s going on… or even later when everyone’s in the dome, and it projects the Time as 12:30, and the Temperature as 72 (F). That 72 would of course have to be changed to “22” (C) outside of the US, otherwise people would think it’s too hot for humans inside!
Anyway, nice pictures! And as a musician who played on it, thank you for buying the soundtrack
Elikrotupos: it’s Andrew Stanton’s signature. For the orchestra members, he did the same thing (putting a little Wall-E next to his name). Oh, and it was Thomas Newman who did the music on this one, not Michael Giacchino.

Yes, the film already had Dutch subtitles. I also saw the movie in Liege (Belgium) two weeks ago with French and Dutch subtitles. I didn’t notice any kind of ‘translations’ in the movie though. I will pay extra attention next time I see WALL-E. Strange thing with Ratatouille in Belgium was that original version with Dutch and French subtitles had Gusteau’s will written in French, whereas the original version with Dutch subtitles in the Netherlands had Gusteau’s will written in English.
And miafka, thank YOU for playing on the score of WALL-E! The soundtrack is really growing on me, especially now that I’ve seen the movie.
