Entertainment Weekly Ratatouille Review

ew.com/ew/article/0,2004311 … ml?cnn=yes

I disagree with some of what they say…But only

because I find no fault in Ratatouille whatsoever. :stuck_out_tongue:

I barely read any of it, but this caught my eye.

What a twit! I couldn’t disagree more.

Well, I think the lack of “celebrity” voices is

a good thing.

I agree with every opinionary declaration that is

stated, with the exception of those last two sentences. Mediocre, indeed! I would bestow upon the film a wide

range of exclaimationary praises and note-worthy reviews before I even set a toe upon its negative side, simply

because there is no down-side to this fantastic film!

Nice review, though. It was a wonderful read

overall, despite its obvious “flaws”.

Thanks for the link,

JesusFreak!

They can say what ever they want, but we must remember that reviews are just opinions. The only review you

should trust is your own review. personaly, I disagree with the celebrety voices thing. I think it is better to

find a actor who can play the character perfectly, than a big time person who can’t even do it.

Err, could someone tell me whether this review contains

any spoilers? Thanks!

The Star Swordsman - Cha – I agree. Everyone has their own, personal opinions

about certain films in particular, and not every review is the same. It all depends on one’s unique

“taste”.

lizardgirl - Some eminent spoilers are included within

several paragraphs of the article, the most notable being a description of the interaction between Linguini and

Remy and their melodious adventures. Information on how Remy makes it to Paris is also mentioned.

ROTTEN

TOMATOES: Movies and Games, Reviews and Previews gave Remy’s tale a 100% on the scale.
Seems Ratatouille is a

smash hit everywhere heh. Remy’s quite happy about all the postive reviews.

Mitch- Okay, yep, I’m not gonna read it.

Thanks!

Interesting. I’ve heard

almost nothing but good things about Ratatouille so far. I say almost because of the Entertainment ‘Weakly’

one. Variety had a very good review about it. (i dont have the link because I was reading it on my phone’s web

browser) but it said that Pixar had definitely done their homework and it’s not just another 'cute critter

comedy’ like so many other studios do, among other things.

I honestly dont understand why some people

think that an animated movie’s got to have big name celebs doing the voices in order for it to sell. There’s a

lot of people I never even heard of or payed much attention to until I heard them doing a voice for a Pixar

character.

We must consider the source of the review… Entertainment Weekly is just one step

ahead of a tabloid. They focus on clothes, trends and “In” celebs, rather than… oh, I

don’t know… actual movies. The magazene is as about as deep as a puddle of water. :stuck_out_tongue:

BEST… CRITIQUE… EVER!!! LOL =D

I think i like rotten tommatoes better than any other reviewer.

Rotten Tomatoes get the average reviews of everyone’s review sort of speak. So you get a lot instead of just

one.

Rotton tomatoes is very good, and accurate too.

I definately disagree with the 'major stars voicing the

characters’ thing. Pixar looks for people who do the job well, which is part of the reason they’re

awesome.

(Which is why we probably won’t see Brad Pitt voice some teddy bear in TS3-but don’t

worry,Dreamworks will be sure to have him in ‘Shrek the 15th’.)

lizardgirl - Heheh. No problem!

lennonluvr9 - Haha. “Entertainment ‘Weakly’”.

Yeah I got that from MAD magazine actually. They did a

spoof of it and it’s in my ‘MAD about the 90s’ book.

lennonluvr9 - Ah – I see.

Heheh. Cool.

I used to read that when I was a kid…Good times.
