Epic Mickey

Im still mad for the fake publicity :imp: BUT that was awesome, it feels very like the old disney, but im confused about something what is exactly the role of pixar in this game? according to this they are not making animation, so what are they doing?

They’re consultants, as far as I’m aware. Just people to talk to to get critique or ideas.

So, then theres not going to be a pixar cameo?

Doubtful, but I would love to see more PIXAR characters too.

I posted this in the WMG section on TV Tropes

You sohuld make a fanfic out of that wild mas guessing, the idea its AWESOME!

If Pixar characters do have cameos in this game, I will be banging down their door until they have some in Kingdom Hearts.

New viral video for Epic Mickey. I’m so looking forward to this game. But unfortunately my Wii broke a few days ago. :frowning: With Epic Mickey and Donkey Kong Returns coming out, and Golden Eye and Kirby’s Epic Yarn already out, I’m sad right now. AND, my copy of Mario Galaxy 2 is in my Wii. :frowning:

It’s Epic Mickey Month at Jim Dooley’s Website! He’s got a couple of sample music from the game here jimdooley.com/

You can’t combine two “offers”. If I go for the “10 dollars off my next video game purchase” offer, can I still get delivery-day shipping for 99 cents?

Also, I’d like to find a list online of all the locations/characters based on old Disney movies and shorts so I can watch all of them before playing the game. If you guys know of any, I’d be so happy.

Had an Epic Mickey birthday cake last night. hehehe

Photos? :smiling_imp:

Yeah, does anyone know how to post a pic from Flickr directly into a post? It’s not working for me.

Copy the direct image link url and then place it between the IMG brackets

Also, very good sized interview of Warren Spector about the game, including the specific involvement with PIXAR and John Lasseter: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/technology/personal-tech/controller-freak/qa-warren-spector-on-disney-epic-mickey/article1805962/[/img]

I did but it didn’t work.

See?

That’s because that’s not the direct image address

This is the direct image address: farm5.static.flickr.com/4133/519 … 5466_b.jpg

Oh, ok
Thanks for posting it for me!

FYI, you can always right click against a picture and select Copy Image Address.

For instance, image url of a garbage bag Epic Mickey Art decal I made:

Oh! I didn’t know about that…

Great job!

I just got my copy of the game from Game Stop today, and I’m really enjoying it. When I went to pick up the game at Game Stop, the cashier said “It’s a good thing you pre-ordered it, because we’re sold out unless you pre-ordered it.” I got lucky!

I was looking forward to this game until I read the reviews. Here’s something I don’t understand. I’ve never heard of Warren Spector until the hype for Epic Mickey started to rev up this year. Every interview, or piece written on him, was full of stuff rhapsodizing about him and his past work. And to hear him talk, you would think he would have a full grasp on what makes a game successful. Most of his past games are considered some of the best of all time. I’ve never played any of them, but that seems to be the general consensus. So what I want to know is, why is it that Epic Mickey has messed up camera, controls and fighting mechanics? When your making a platform game, those are things you don’t screw up! It was kind of heartbreaking to read. I thought the game was in excellent hands. Was he spending to much time making sure EVERYTHING in the game was Disney related (he told somebody on his team to find a Disney barrel, after he presented him a drawing of a cool barrell he had draw), that he forgot about some of the rudimentary things that makes a platform successful? The one thing that makes me want to check this game out is that John Lasseter help with the story. And the one thing that people seem to agree on, is that it’s a very good story worthy of a Pixar film. But I can’t get past what’s wrong with it. I can forgive tedious combat, some boring levels and backtracking. But I can’t forgive when it comes to bad controls, camera and fighting mechanics.
