Hey everyone!
I additionally am a huge fan of Pixar and it’s entirely myself. I reside
in San Jose, CA and attend SJSU (San Jose State University) majoring in Animation/Illustration and minoring in
Creative Writing. I recent started listening to Radio Pixar and enjoyed the interaction and decided to head over
to the forum and say whats up. I am aspiring to work at Pixar myself as a Charachter Developer or an Animator.
Either or I’d be happy with… heck, I wouldn’t mind working as a janitor there either!
I am definately
waist deep in the entire art aspect of Pixar and it’s mechanisms (and it’s stories of course!) I do love
everything they do and attempt to absorb as much information as possible regarding Pixar, Animation,
Illustration, Art, and the movie industry itself. Anyway…
In retrospect to the topic of the thread,
it’s most notable that Pixar Studios in Emeryville, CA is not a public place or can technically be
“toured”. You would have to enter as guest and be guided by someone you know to do this. Recently in
July, I had a friend who knew a System’s Admin (IT Guy basically) that worked there and my personal
wish/dream/fantasy (you name it) happend! I got to visit Pixar and meet some of the folks who bring the beautiful
movies, emotions, music, and heart-dwelling stories to the screen! I was going to do a full write-up on this (for
myself) but never really gotten the chance. But I can tell you it was freaking INCREDIBLE (no pun intended… no,
really.
). I was giggling like a school girl with a crush on a guy and on massive energy
drinks.
Overall, I was curious if anyone else would like to hear about this experience? I know some don’t
like to hear or care for the inter-workings of Studio Companies, but I assure you, no job is like the one of this
kind. Unfortunately, we were NOT able to take pictures due to copyright reasons besides in lobby (where there
wasn’t much media to “steal”). So I did grab a few pictures and I bought an AWESOME “Pixar”
jacket at their mini-store (which wasn’t really a store but a spinning rack, lol).
Anyway, nice to know
their is an forum dedicated to Pixar out here and glad to have found it. Thanks Admins and all
contributors!
Btw, name is Rob! Here are the very few pics I got away with at Pixar. (only posting a
few):
Yea,
