I was wondering what keeps EVE together when she’s awake. Is it something magnetic, or are all of EVE’s parts hovering with extremely good accuracy? It’s obviously something we don’t have now.
I’m skeptical about the magnetism theory, since she still managed to stay together when that huge magnet got her stuck for a little while. 
Somebody please help me out.
I think it has something to do with magnetism, and some other outstanding technology that I do not know of.
I think I’ve read somewhere that her joints are magnetic. That might explain why, when she gets stuck to the crane, her shoulders are pulled up too.
Yep, going with the magnetic thing here. I don’t think it’s as if, if EVE wanted to, she could just make her arms float away from her body. They have a certain range and if pulled outside of that range, probably disconnect from the magnetic (or whatever it is) field. It might be a kind of technology we are not aware of yet, but magnetism seems to make sense.
Maybe it is a laser. if it was a magnet it would have limitations…if it was a laser it could move in any direction.
Andrew Stanton has said she floats like that because of magnetism (at Comic-Con), I think there is no discussion left here since it’s been confirmed.

ok, that was lame but it’s probably some kind of magnetism and they can be removed as we saw in the rogue robot scene.
On the official website, quote, it says ‘anti-gravity magnetic airframe’. Solved.
