Fanfiction.net & Pixar Planet

I recently joined FanFiction.net and i already have many questions and thoughts.
1-How do you create multiple stories without running out of space in your stories uploading thing?
2-Why is there no category for Pixar?
3-Are there only specific forums for Pixar…i know i created a Pixar forum on fanfiction but it hasn’t been accessed by many.
4-How long was the first review for you take?
5-Can i post fiction there or just fanfiction??

Just some questions…maybe you guys can help just a bit.

Glad to hear you joined FF.net, Al-Bob! It’s such a good resource for writing fanfictions.

  1. I’m not sure what the limit is as to how many documents you can have uploaded at once, but I’m sure there’s enough space to upload a fair few. Also, once you’ve uploaded a chapter of a story, you can just delete it from the document managr to make space for new documents.

  2. I don’t think FF.net sorts the stories into categories by company, but rather by individual films (or other media).

  3. I haven’t seen any specific forums for Pixar on there, though I think there’s a Pixar C3 community.

  4. It really depends on whether the category you’ve posted in is very busy, as well as the quality of the story itself. Plus, the easier it is to read and the nicer it is presented, the more reviews you tend to get.

  5. It’s just fanfiction on FF.net. There is a sister site though, called FictionPress.com- FictionPress. Here you can post your original works.

Hope you enjoy posting your stories on FF.net.

1-I want to post my Troubled Teens story and my TS3 Story but i’m out of Chapters if i keep TI2 Story…there must be another way.

Then I think you’ll just have to delete old chapters from your document manager. After all, if you’ve already put up the story, you don’t need all of the chapters on your document manager, do you? Or am I completely misunderstanding what you mean?

well…i wanted to keep up all the chapters because i know someone who has somewhere near 50 chapters up for one story. I still can’t understand how they can limit the amount of chapters.

Here’s the problem…
The only way i know how to create chapters is to upload them as individual stories…then post them in the mother story.
I don’t know how to upload stories and then create chapters from that story…

Oh, I see! Well, this is what I do when I upload a story-

-Click on Publish, then on Document Manager. Upload the first chapter.
-Then click on New Story, and do all of that stuff, so you now have the first chapter of your story up.
-When you want to put new chapters on the same story, upload them in the Document Manager.
-Then click on My Stories, and ‘edit’ on the one that you want to add the chapters to.
-Click on content/chapters, and choose the chapter you want to upload next. Click ‘add’.

That should be it, I think!

wierd…i tried to do that with TS3 but the thing said…“you have reached your 15 upload limit” o_O…maybe its just me…i’ll try sometime soon to see if it changes.

I am glad you joined FF.net Al-Bob. I have been on that site posting TI fanfics since 2005. It is always great to read new stories.

If you have any questions that lizardgirl hasn’t answered yet, then feel free to ask.

I haven’t been back to Fanfiction in proper for a long while. I do review every now and then and am aiming to post a New Years special next month…

  1. I haven’t had much of a problem with this, but I don’t think that putting them up all at once is a good idea (same goes with multi-chapter stories). Just saying, if that was what you were planning to do, probably is what’s causing some upload problems.

  2. Because the films are divided. If they JUST made Pixar then you would have all the films in there and it could take forever to find the stories for the movie that your interested in. If your looking to do a crossover, however, you can do it in either (if it’s just two worlds) of the movies your story deals with or put it in the crossover sections they have on the site.

  3. When you go to a section, such as a Pixar Film, where the stories are, there’s a link to the forums for the material if it has one. Monsters Inc. has one and I’m sure others do.
Remember, it’s the stories people come for, so you may not get many posts on your forum yet, just give it some time

  4. Oh that was a LONG time ago ^0^ For me it took about…pfft…a week…and surprisingly it was quite a detailed and encouraging.

  5. Like LG said, there’s a seperate forum for that.

For the 15 thing. Don’t know WHY your uploading 15 bits at a time (for maximum review work, one chapter at a time)…
But maybe 15 is just the maximum you can only upload at the time. Be it that you upload, reach you limit, wait for it to get THOSE 15 on…once that’s done you can upload 15 more. Of course it could also be that you can only upload 15 a day (remember these people are dealing with uncountable stories).

I feel the need to explain this…
1 Week ago i uploaded the 15 Chapters of TI2 Droid revenge onto my document uploader.
It has been on till today when i tried to upload other chapters for new stories…but the FanFiction said i had reached my limit and would not accept anymore chapters or stories. I was perplexed becuase i thought that 15 chapter limit was rather short for active posters.

Maybe the document uploader can only hold up to 15 chapters. A story can have as many chapters as the writer wishes.

yah…that was what i thought but i can’t figure out how to upload the story and create chapters from it.

Well, to create a story, you gotta upload chapters, one by one.

To create a new story, you first have to upload the document of your first chapter. Then upload the uploaded chapter on to the story.

I get the first part but how do you upload an already uploaded file?
All i know is that after uploading TI2…it wouldn’t let me upload anymore. I haven’t attempted uploading files via story i might try that next.

Ah, ff.net! The double edged sword of fandom! I’m over there. Same username. All in all, the WALL-E writers are a good bunch.

Netbug
yah…i subscribe to your updates to watch your stories. You’ve got some good ones…

I have an account on FF.net, but I stopped updating my stories there long ago. (I still write them though and post them elsewhere.) I can’t remember exactly how to explain the story uploading thing because it’s been so long since I’ve updated mine, but I’m sure I could go back and figure it out pretty quick if you need help.

As for the first review thing, I think it was a few days only because someone who happened to have been reading my story on another site found it and reviewed. I don’t get reviews anymore, so I don’t post stories there and only post on other sites.

I do read stories on FF.net though, but sadly my favorite story there hasn’t been updated in a long time because not enough people (besides me) reviewed the story.

I also have an acount on Fanfiction.net! I’m Mrs.EdwardCullen114!

1- I think they deleat some after a while of being there. That’s atleast what I think happened to me, but I could be wrong!
2-There are seperate categories for each pixar movie!
3-No, but alot of forums for pixar are on the specific board for a movie. For example a Monsters Inc. pixar board will be in the Monsters Inc. section. There is also a disney sectino where one might be.
4-On my stories? Anywhere from an hour to a few days, weeks, or months, depending on the story.
5-I’m pretty sure just fanfiction. But, I wish you could post fiction!

Hope I helped!
