Fantasia 2000

I love this movie! I haven’t seen the original Fantasia, however

I want to.

Who likes it or the original? What are your favorite segments?I like the end segment

and Rhapsody in Blue (the 3rd one).

(Part of me wanted to see the little girl karate-chop the nanny/tutor

lady in Rhapsody in Blue :stuck_out_tongue: )

Who on earth could forget the

Fantasia movies ? Oh god, I love those . Every segment is fantastic . My

favorite in Fantasia 2000 would have to be Carnival of the Animals (the flamingo

with the yo-yo was priceless)

I have the oringinal uncut version of the original

Fantasia and I highly recommend it to anyone who doesn’t own it.

the Flamingo segment was genious, in more ways then

one. The entire scene was animated with water colors, I work with watercolors a lot, so I can see how hard it

must have been to do that segment. It’s genius.

Once again, this particular Disney “sequel” to

an untimely film does not rival that of its predecessor, but Fantasia 2000

was highly enjoyable, nonetheless. It was also the worst theater experience of my

life: although I saw it in an IMAX cinema (one of the largest cinemas in the entire planet and the universe

combined), I held going to the bathroom for 2 1/2

hours. I can’t describe the pain… :stuck_out_tongue:

My favorite of the

pieces has to be Carnival of the Animals, but I also love Pines of

Rome, Rhapsody in Blue, and The Firebird

as well. And, of course, there is always the Oscar-worthy The Sorcerer’s Apprentice

to commemorate. I absolutely love the animation…

So yeah – great film!

Not as good as the original, but a masterpiece nonetheless.

Held going to the bathroom for 2 1/2 HOURS!? :open_mouth:

Everybody votes for Carnival of

the Animals, heh? I didn’t get to see that one the last time I saw it, the DVD was skipping (Darn you

Blockbuster, I will get revenge! :smiling_imp: )

I’m currently listening to The Firebird on Real One Player.

I set it to the Fire visualization, it’s really neat.

You know, it’s interesting to note, the next Hiyao Myazaki movie will be

animated primarily in watercolors, just like the Flamingo segment. Can’t wait.

Yesterday was a fantastic day for me.My mom ordered me the

soundtrack AND movie yesterday, plus I found some old TV spots! This one is my

favorite:Fantasia 2000 Tv Spot 4.

Heheh – cool. Congratulations, Annoying!

Yeah, it was “strickeningly” horrible. I don’t know how I stood the

pain…

Oh wow,

that is so cool. Watching that TV spot though brought back a lot of memories for me.

I’ve only seen Fantasia 2000 once so I can’t remember much of it, but I do remember enjoying the Rhapsody in Blue bit since I’m a big fan of Gershwin. This film is NOTHING compared to the beautifully animated Fantasia, but you know… sequels happen, and this was well made.

Got the soundtrack today, still waiting on the actual movie!

I was watching a little bit of it on Youtube. This is the scene I watched. It is the flamingo scene. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9BmkAh_1SmQ

Rhapsody in Blue is my favorite - especially after going to NYC and coming back to watch that one … and going “Oh that PERFECTLY describes NYC!” – plus it’s already a fantastic song to listen to.

But I do love the flamingos too – I even had a stuffed animation of that flamingo as a kid.
And the IMAX experience was awesome.

Perhaps its just me but I always felt the original Fantasia was way too long and dull for me … but I haven’t watched it in years - it just had a difficult time of keeping my attention … that and the Night on Bald Mountain (right?) scared me out of my pants, I’m sure.
Perhaps I should see it again - but I recall enjoying 2000 much more so.

Got the movie today-but I’m really worried it’s a fake. There’s a spelling error-and probably one or so more-and instead of ‘introduction’ it says ‘instruction’,which I’m pretty sure is wrong. Plus it doesn’t list many special features. I’m going to scan it in right now.

But I’ll watch the movie, and if it’s alright,I’ll say this never happened. :stuck_out_tongue:

P.S. I started to watch the movie. Below the logo it says ‘OST’ and I can’t acess special features…???

Uh oh, that can’t be good. Probably is a fake. but i guess you will have to go check. I hope it isn’t.

I haven’t seen this movie, but I want to. I hear it’s great!

Heh-heh,turns out I’m not

alone with the ‘fake DVD’ thing. 2 other people complained about the person who sold the DVD I bought on e-Bay.

Ironically, they were complaining about the SAME MOVIE! :stuck_out_tongue:

Sounds a LOT like the version of

Cars I got while in Mexico. It was poorly put together, so it was obvious that it was fake/pirated…But I

should’ve known better since I picked it up at the black market! :~o

(Which is actually a

really cool place)

I love this film so much. i liked the first film but it was a bit too long. This one was shorter and was a bit better. Especially the flamingos and Donald in the Noah’s ark story. I loved how they tied the two together aswell with the scene with Mickey Meeting James Levine. Although my cousin got freaked out because of the different mickey voice Wayne Allwine provided to Walt’s in the first. :open_mouth:
