Favorite Classic Disney Song

I know there’s a ton (and 75% are probably written by Alan Menken  ) but which one did you connect with most? Which one could you really relate to? or which song you just can’t stop listening to? Mine has to be I Won’t Say I’m in Love I can relate to it, and it just has such a great catchy tune. What are yours?

Probably Under the Sea is the one that I can relate to the most, but Be our Guest is my favorite.

How can I choose?! I love so many of them…
That’s How You Know, So Close, Be Our Guest, I Won’t Say I’m in Love, Zero to Hero, Friend Like Me, One Jump Ahead, I Just Can’t Wait to Be King, Be Prepared, Kiss the Girl

But since you ask which one(s) I can relate most to, definitely Reflection (Mulan), I’m Still Here (Treasure Planet), & Go the Distance (Hercules). These songs all have something in common…they deal with the pains of growing up, trying to fit in, trying to stand out, trying to get where you want to be…they’re truly inspiring and makes me really feel just like the characters.

OH! ITS SO HARD TO CHOOSE!

Here is a list of just some of them (I love them all)

I Won’t Say I’m in Love (Definately my fav out of all of them!)
One Jumpe Ahead
Under the Sea
Kiss the Girl
Prince Ali
One Last Hope
A Whole New World
Tip and Dash
For a Moment
Friend Like Me
Go The Distance

There are SOOOOOOOOO many more, but I love those ones the most!
Mostly any songs from my top three fav disney movies

The Little Mermaid
Hercules
Aladdin

I totally forgot about One Jump Ahead! I love that one!

Well, gosh. That’s near impossible for me. I guess I can put up the ones I listen to the most.

Why Should I Worry
What’s This?
Hakuna Matata
Out There
Eye 2 Eye (goofy movie ftw)
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious
A Whole New World
Under The Sea

practically any song from the glory days of traditional disney animation (late 80’s - 90’s)

Oh, I forgot about Why Should I Worry! That one’s really catchy!

Oh wow. I love so many classic Disney songs! I’ll try to narrow it down to a few:

Under the Sea
One Jump Ahead
Colors of the Wind
Gaston
Belle
Be Our Guest
Hakuna Matata
Circle of Life
and so many more…

I also love the song “Why Should I Worry?” That was like my theme song when I was little.

And me and my Mom would always sing along to “Hakuna Matata” (and still do sometimes  ).

Those are really hard because I love a lot of them.

Under the sea is a catchy tune haha

Quoting myself here, those still apply to me now. But I have new songs to add to the list:
-The Age of Not Believing [Bedknobs and Broomsticks- another inspiring, touching song]
-Savages [Pocahontas] (I like how it shows the dark, honest, stereotyping adult perspective of war)
-Little April Shower [Bambi] (BEAUTIFUL song that sounds just like a rainy day except more on the positive side)
-Someone’s Waiting For You [The Rescuers] (I CRIED when I heard this song. Its lyrics still stayed in my mind and brought me comfort when I was down).
-Scales and Arpeggios [The Aristocats] (it’s just cute but I also like the line “like a tree, ability will bloom and grow”. It reminds me of A Bug’s Life).
-I’ll Try [Return to Neverland] -(okay, technically, it’s a Disney sequel song, not exactly a classic, but it’s a really good song for a sequel and the lyrics have the depth of an original Disney Classic)
-Let’s Get Together [The Parent Trap]- (it’s catchy)

There are so many, but…

Going back to the earlier, pre-Mermaid classics, I have to pick “A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes,” from Cinderella. Really lovely and timeless.

The Mermaid/Beauty/Aladdin scores have so much good stuff, and I’m also an old Hunchback fan, too. “Be Our Guest” has to be one of the all-time great Disney production numbers, but watching Aladdin on TV recently, I was reminded how much fun “Prince Ali” was.

Is anyone else familiar with the CD “Disney’s On the Record”? It’s a 2-disc cast recording of a stage revue of Disney songs, old and new, with some really neat arrangements. The “Be Our Guest” on it is wonderful, with portions of it sung in French, German, Japanese and Swedish, before they kick into English for the big “course by course…” finish. I would definitely recommend the album for Disney music fans.

You’ve got a friend in me my all time fav, but we’re talking Disney here so…

Two Worlds One Family - Tarzan
You’ll be in my Heart - Tarzan
Be prepared - Lion King
Man cub - Jungle Book
Friend like me - Aladdin
Whole new world- Aladdin (yes its true)

And a whole bunch that I dont remember. XD

Got a few but my top three would have to be “I Won’t Say I’m In Love” from Hercules, “Candle on the Water” from Pete’s Dragon and “Under the Sea” from The Little Mermaid…

I’d have to say …

Colors of the Wind ( Pocahontas )
True To Your Heart ( Mulan )
Reflection ( both the film and pop version from Mulan )
Under the Sea ( The Little Mermaid )
Part of Your World ( The Little Mermaid )
Won’t Say I’m In Love ( Hercules )
Hellfire ( Hunchback of Notre Dame )
God Help The Outcasts ( Hunchback of Notre Dame )

Thanks all I can think of for now. " Hellfire " is one of the best underappriciated songs.

Okay, let’s seeeeee…

Tale As Old As Time
One Jump Ahead
A Whole New World
Colors Of The Wind
Circle of Life
Can You Feel The Love Tonight
Little April Showers
I’ll Make A Man Out Of You

And there may be some more that I can’t remember right now…heh :stuck_out_tongue:

Any song from The Lion King or Oliver and Company.

Number one will have to be “Whole New World.” It’s so sweet and catchy. I like most of stuff Menken’s done, really. Mulan and The Lion King also had good music. As for pre-Renaissance films… No, there are too many to list. I like them all!

Stand Out (A Goofy Movie)
