Come on! What is it exactly about that ride that makes you avoid it like the
plague? IMHO, nothing looks as terrifying to me as that steep, nose-bleeder drop on Goliath.

Ok, I must prove my point here to DoubleLatte…

DoubleLatte -
Three good reasons why the
‘X’ spells “fear” with a capital ‘F’:
1) You go
up…backwards…
2) You drop
straight down, with the seats turned down so that you’re
looking at the ground.
3) What if it breaks…?
![]()
Three acceptable reasons on why the
Goliath is top-notch “fun” with a capital
‘F’:
1) Riding it at night = pretty city lights and a refreshing blast of
cold wind.
2) It’s fun…it’s fast…and it’s
free!
3) With a top speed of 210 mph., and a drop with a 75 degree angle, who
wouldn’t want to ride it?
I have proved my point. ![]()
But… those three things
are my definition of fun! “Fun” with a capital ‘F’. ![]()
Ha ha. Okay, I see where you’re coming
from. Goliath still spells fear for me, even if I rode it once already. Honestly, if I get to go to Six Flags
again, I don’t know if I’ll have the courage this time around to get on it!
DoubleLatte - Haha!

Well, we all have our own personal tastes for things that satisfy our “fun factor”.
Personally, I think the ‘X’ is for those coaster enthusiasts who will ride anything for the sake – or fun –
of it, which can be a good thing. Heheh.
However, Goliath is my cup of tea when it comes to fast and
furious rides – maybe if you try it again you’ll like it more. ![]()
I won’t ride
Superman either, by the way. My dad says that I’m a chicken. ![]()
DoubleLatte: My reason why I won’t ride “X” is very simple. I don’t
ride coasters with loops. The last time I rode one, I was sick to my stomach off and on the rest of the day, and
I missed out on a lot of my favorite rides. (I know there aren’t any loops in it, but I can’t even ride a
tilt-a-whirl without getting green.)
All of Mitch’s reasons are good, but when it comes right down to
it, it’s the loops.
…You could say that about any
roller coaster. Even a little dinky one. ![]()
It could be argued that 210 mph is just as bad as loops.
Now,
myself, I’ll ride any roller coaster out there, and unless it’s poorly constructed and whips me around, love it
immensely. But I just thought those two points needed pointing out… ![]()
And I
really need to get around some more and go ride these coasters. ![]()
KyrieEleison - I don’t blame you – I felt like my
brains were falling out of my head when I rode my first loop on the Revolution. Some
people just can’t take the loops. I, on the other hand, was hooked after that first loop…

1. True…true. Any
rollercoaster could brake – with devastating outcomes, as there have been in the past – , but imagine this:
You’re riding on the ‘X’, and suddenly…right when you’re about to fall down that vertical drop…the thing
brakes… (shudder)
2. Like I said, nothing
beats the loops, so even a 210 mph. acceleration speed is no where near as bad as a 360 degree loop.
3. If you ever get the chance to visit Six Flags Magic Mountain, ride the
Viper first. ![]()
Case closed…again.
I like any rollor coaster that can do anything. Just
so long as it has a shoulder bar and not a lap bar only.
rollercoasters are o.k. … as long as there aren’t
any loops , then i’ll cry until i get off . not i really big fan of heights . i don’t like to feel that im
going to die .
Space Mountain in Disney World ( not paris ! they have loops ! ) is my favorite . I can’t
see how high up i am .
