I was thinking Pixar was going to use one of the animators for the voice of Mrs. Flint.
I mean, they do it all of the time for minor characters.

Yes, indeed. They do have their fellow animators play the parts of many of
their minor characters. Perhaps they wanted Flint to have a distinctive voice so that the audience would be more
“familiar” with the film and actors in general upon their first viewing. Hmm…
I see. But Bonnie Hunt was an incredible
choice though. In the movie Cars, she is my favorite voice actress.
