Speaking of lines from Helen, I like the line “They’re all just out getting coffee. At the same time. yeah” I sometimes use that one!
lennonluvr9 - That’s the best line in the whole film… (snigger)
“The Dash…likes!” - Dash
– Mitch
Anything that Anton Ego says. His voice is amazing. But especially when he says the word [spoil]‘popular’[/spoil]. And that speech he makes. All very top class quotes. ![]()
Edited. I fixed one of your spoiler tags. – Mitch
Actually Bill she said, "Big Money!..No WHAMMIES!
She was quoting from this game show called “WHAMMY”. Game contestants would say that for good luck since getting a “whammy” would cause you to lose all the money you earned…

For me, in every Pixar movie there is one pivotal line that distils the - well, ‘moral’ cheapens it, but yeah, the real point of the movie. It’s where the words mean something symbolic that is deeper than their face value. In Nemo, as lennonluvr pointed out, it was
Dory: “Let go!”
Marlin: “How do I know something bad’s not gonna happen?”
Dory: “You don’t!”
That is a ridiculously wise quote for life, and for Marlin especially, because he’s spent his life avoiding any kind of risk. That “You don’t!” just slays me.
You already know my favourite line from Ratatouille, and it packs the same symbolic punch as the above one:
Remy: No, Dad. You’re telling me that the future is - can only be - more of this?
Django: You can’t change nature.
Remy: Change is nature, Dad. The part that we can influence. And it starts - when we decide.
Hmm. I’ve only seen the Incredibles twice, and both times not straight through - I wonder if I could find such a line in there, if I looked…
Well, I like those two TI lines posted above, but overall, I think the line that defines the entire film will have to be,
“We’re Super Heroes. What could happen?”
Amen. That particular exchange of dialogue was, to me, the most pivotal and impactful collage of quotes in the film. It really struck a heart string…
Oh, and Dory actually said, “I don’t!”. Sorry I’m so critical, but that’s me. ![]()

SO I was watching TI again today, and one quote that totally symbolized my day would have to be,
“You sir, truly are ‘‘Mr. lncredible’’! You know, I was
right to idolize you. I always knew you were tough, but tricking the probe by
hiding under the bones of another super? Oh, man! I’m still geeking out about
it!”
TSS- I love Syndrome’s tone of voice when he says that- he’s so over-excited. ![]()
I watched Toy Story last night after buying the 10th Anniversary version, and I just love it when Mr. Potato Head says, “What, did you guys take stupid pills this morning?” Mr. Potato Head is so hilarious. ![]()
I love the line in The Incredibles where the newscaster says “We interrupt for an important bulletin. A deadly high speed pursuit between police and armed gunmen is underway, travelling northbound on San Pablo Avenue.” I really like how he says “avenue”. Heh.
Ok. I listened to that part, but the only thing I hear starting up while she is talking is the big "WHOOSH"ing sound of the The Incredibles logo. lol. Still sounds really cool, though.
Yeah, I guess that’s what I meant. Sorry… ![]()
The second “I don’t think so” was supposed to be quiet to set up the explosive title, and then the very first action scene.
The Star Swordsman - I think your totally right. The second “I don’t think so…” gives this quiet, still feeling - followed up by an all out in-your-face slam. Pretty awesome, if I do say so myself. ![]()
You’re totally right! I had never thought of that before, but it makes for a very effective contrast. ![]()
Heh heh, thanks you guys.
The Star Swordsman - Hey yeah, that’s interesting! Nice speculation. ![]()
– Mitch
Aww, don’t mention it.
Anton Ego : Ammusing title, " Anyone Can Cook". What’s even more ammusing is that Gusteau actually seems to believe it. I, on the other hand, take cooking seriously, and, no, I don’t think anyone can do it.
NOTE : I avoided spoiler tags since the DVD is now out, but if Mitch or any mod/admin thinks that spoiler tags are still needed, please add them in. ![]()
“Anyone can cook, but only the fearless can be great!”
Most powerful line in the movie!
Bill - Spoiler tags are now not needed for Ratatouille-related quotes, with the exception of Your Friend the Rat. You’re safe. Heheh. ![]()
