Favorite toys

I thought this

would be an appropriate topic for the Toy Story section.

What were everyone’s favorite toys growing

up?

Mine were stuffed animals, LEGOs, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles action figures and playsets, Fisher

Price Little People, McDonalds Happy Meal toys (especially those mix-and-match McNuggets figures), Barbie dolls

(yes, I admit to that), Waffle Blocks, and Play-Doh.

I still enjoy building things with LEGOs from time to

time, but the toy(s) I’ve gotten the most use out of in my lifetime are my Nintendo systems. Nothing keeps me

engaged like a good video game. :-D)

I’ll never grow out of loving toys. I’m always gonna be a kid at

heart.

~~=oP

My favorite toys went from toy dinosaurs to swords

made of plastic. I still love to play with my Incredibles toys.

I also must admit I’ve even touched a Barbie doll, so

you’re not alone PV :-D) I loved the McDonalds toys too! (they’re not the same now though) My tomboy side loved

and still loves my wrestling action figures. That’s when most of my imagination went wild. And I also

actually owned some Toy Story toys , I had both Woody and Buzz, Slinky,Hamm I still have Rex, and I had Sid’s

dog (forgot his name)

Yes! I am not alone! ^^

I mostly played with the Barbie accessories and used

them with other toys. My favorite Barbie things were the orca whale mother and baby and the dolphin. The

dolphin BTW makes the same sound that the boos do in the Super Mario Bros. games. Wow, that was

random.

~~=oP

Me too! 8D I also just noticed you’re a

gamer too right? My cousins had Nintendo systems that I played whenever I was over but personally I was striictly

Sony(Playstation). I think I’m gonna go and get my wrestling action figures back,(they’re in the attic) I miss

em!

Legos, mostly, but in the past six years I’ve been a BIG

fan of plushies.

By “Plushies,” I mean nealry ANYTHING with some stuffing in them . . . Teddy

Bears, dinosaurs, rabbits, even that Aristocratic Order of the Ty . . .

I’m a fan of all of

them!!!

As for lego, I’m a BIG BIONICLE fan. Love the story, love the sets. I’m planning on getting

Axonn soon!

As for Barbies . . . well let’s just say since my sister turned eleven, they’ve been kinda

“extinct” in my world. (and they were such a peaceful race too!)

But I DO have a Brat doll . . .

and she’s one tough cookie! Took out a stuffed Lion a few days ago! :sunglasses:

I used to

love Lego and soft toys, but I never really had any Barbies. I dunno why- I just didn’t. Somone I did have a lot

of was Polly Pocket. They’re great fun!

I loved my Barbie dolls, and I played with them well into middle school, I must

admit. It was just so much fun to dress them up all beautifully… but once I was about 11-12, I finally gave

them up to my little sister, who never really played with them. They “went extinct,” as Phoenician

termed it, when Lauren was about 10, when she gave all her (which used to be my) Barbies to the neighbor girl. We

haven’t had a Barbie doll in the house ever since.

Other than my Barbie dolls, I had an extensive

collection of plushies, mostly teddy bears, with some kitty cats and other animals. I have a small beanie

collection, but most of the time, I was reading books.

I’ve read your posts and thought

of something interesting to share.

toy

rated #1:
#1 - Hula Hoop

The hula

hoop?! #1?! C’mon!

~~=oP

The hula hoop?! But they’re so simple and kids can

get tired of them really quickly!

I liked my stuffed animals. I

also was into computer games. I had this Sesame Street computer game i just loved. I had an Ariel doll from

little mermaid that I played with a lot too. My fav though was probably this talking toy robot 2-XL. You’d

insert a 2-XL cassette tape and he’d ask you questions and well, you answer them and he’d react to yer choices

and stuff. I still play with it once in awhile…

haha - I actually agree with the hula hoop. You gotta know your history to understand

this ranking. Hula hoops were massively popular going back to the 1950’s. They were, one might say, the first

Tickle Me Elmo of toydom. It was the one toy that every kid had to have and the first toy to mount and succceed

through a mass marketing ploy. Of course the hula hoop is nothing like it was back then as far as popularity but

it’s still around nonetheless giving it remarkable longevity and staying power. What’s more is it’s probably

changed the least of any toy that still survives from that period. But no matter how you look at it, the hula

hoop revolution was comparatively bigger than any other toy revolution we’ve had to this day.

Ehh. I’ll

take a Skip-It over a hula hoop anyday. :stuck_out_tongue:

~~=oP

I played with somebody’s Skip It once and I ended up

getting a cut on my leg… I guess I used it too long

That’s why you pull your socks up.

I agree with the

Hula Hoop decision as well, whether it may have been MY favorite toy or not.

But yeah, I DID see the

entire series. While I enjoy those programs, boy do they take some time to get through!

Well, I’d have to say that a SmokyBear plush was among my favorites, along with a few battery-powered toys that

I wish I still had today – a Dino the dinosaur from the Flintstones and a couple of Lost in Space toys, the

Jupiter II and Robot.

I also remember getting one of the first TV gaming systems from Magnavox which

included plastic overlays for the TV screen. Of course it had Pong and a few others, but I most remember the duck

hunt and ghost shooting arcade games.

Actually remember the board games the best – Battleship, Kerplunk,

Monopoly, the Game of Life, Operation and Trivial Pursuit was all the rage when I hit my college years.
