Well, we were discussing film endings in another topic, so it seemed like a good question- which of the Pixar films do you like the ending of most? Which gives you the most satisfying conclusion?

lizardgirl - You completely forgot the best film in the bunch, dude. It is a great question, though! (snigger)

Mitch- I did put Ratatouille on the end of the thing. That’s really weird. Maybe I should’ve clicked something when I didn’t. :unamused: I’ll add it now!

EDIT- Aha! I didn’t click the ‘add option’ button.

lizardgirl - Ohhh! Haha. That’s funny. Well, hakuna matata! Thanks for posting it up.

Well, needless to say, the conclusion to Ratatouille is most definitely my prefered ending of choice. Simply stated, it enlightened within me a feeling of… Ohh…how can I describe it? It was such a lovely feeling that it’s almost rather difficult to put into words… I felt like…“the end to a very long day”. I can breath a peaceful and self-satisfied sigh of relieve every time I see those last pieces of film patter their way onto the screen, and I’m not ashamed to say that I come close to tears every single time. That ending is probably one of the very few things in the world that will make me smile beyond reason…

Heheh. So yes… I love it. <img src=“{SMILIES_PATH}/love2.gif” alt=“:loves:” title="In

I picked A Bug’s Life, because it is my all-time favorite Pixar film, but I also loved Ratatouille’s ending.

Ratatouille! Of course because it is my fav movie.

Surprisingly, my favorite ending is not favorite movie (Incredibles) nor my second fav (Ratatouille). Nope. My favorite ending goes to the last scene of my 3rd favorite movie, Finding Nemo. The music, the serenity, and the emotion portrayed left me feeling very good, despite my initial apathy for the movie.
Close second for endings is Monsters Inc. Now I’m known as a notorious crier at movies. I have not watched the ending to Monsters once where I wasn’t reduced to crying like a 6 year old. Though, to be honest, most of those tears are runoff from the goodbye scene that happens 5 minutes prior.
Kitty?

Ratatouille, with a feel good and happy conclusion, is in third while the let’s-go-kick-some-hiney ending to Incredibles takes 4th.

Actually come to think of it, Monsters and Nemo could probably be interchanged here and it wouldn’t bother me. For now I guess I just stick with Nemo.

I picked The Incredibles. It has such intensity, and you it will just keep you begging and excited for more.

Haunt- That’s exactly why I was curious about what people would pick- someone’s favourite Pixar film might not necessarily include their favourite Pixar ending.

You got that right, lizardgirl!

I picked Monster’s Inc. Why? It was sooo heart warming for me… the music was so sweet… But what I really loved was Sulley’s expression with that simple phrase… “Kitty…?” <img src=“{SMILIES_PATH}/love2.gif” alt=“:loves:” title="In

Ratatouille’s ending is my second favorite. The music was perfect and Remy’s impossible dream actually came true against all odds and possibilities… <img src=“{SMILIES_PATH}/love2.gif” alt=“:loves:” title="In

I think I have to go with ratatouille on this one.
I adored the music, ant the whole concept of the end.
My Friend and I were “awwwww-ing” so much ^v^

Monster’s Inc is easily the sweetest ending of any Pixar film. sniff I can hear Randy Newman’s score in my head while watching the scene when Sully left Boo. And I like how it ended… you hear her voice but you don’t see her. You don’t need to… you already know Sully was able to see her again. cries

I agree that the Ratatouille ending has an aww moment, but if there is one you can’t beat when it comes to aww moments, it has to be, like everyone said, the Monster’s Inc. ending.

Oh man it was a complete toss up at first between Nemo and Cars. Yes, Cars is my fav Pixar movie and I do love the ending a lot. Helping King finish the race coupling that with the hilarious epilogue. It was great. But Nemo did edge that out just a little. Nemo’s ending just gets to me a little bit more. With the “bye dad!” “bye, son” it just really gets to me.

OMG -flail- I’m gonna FINALLY see Ratatouille in a few hours from now!!! (-is trying not to read everyone else’s posts in case of spoilers-) So for now my pick is between Finding Nemo and Monsters Inc, but we’ll see when I get back after SEEING THE MOVIE!!! I’m REALLY EXCITED!

To be honest, it’s hard for me to pick an overall best ending, because there are so many criteria. With that said, I’m simply going to list out the best endings based on specific categories:

Most Emotional Ending: Finding Nemo - I don’t find this very surprising, since Finding Nemo, in my opinion, is the most emotional Pixar movie of them all.

Best Cliffhanger: The Incredibles and Monsters, Inc. (TIE) - I can’t really decide between these two. Both endings certainly made me wonder what would happen next. It’d be nice if sequels for these movies were made, but as the guys over at Pixar said, production on a movie (let alone a sequel) only begins once a good story is encountered.

Happiest Ending: A Bug’s Life and Cars (TIE) - Again, I can’t choose between these two when it comes to happy endings. A Bug’s Life’s ending had that elating quality to it, and Cars’ ending put a really big smile on my face (Cars’ ending was also rather emotional, which is why it would come in close second in the “Emotional” category).

Most Thought-Provoking Ending: Ratatouille - Anton Ego’s speech at the end was so well-said, there is no way in the world anyone could have forgotten to ponder over its meaning. So anyone can cook, right? If you listen to this speech, you’ll realize what the true and greater meaning of this phrase is.

Special mention goes to Toy Story and Toy Story 2, because the endings of those movies were also absolutely brilliant.
