Yes, we already have a Mater, but there are several Cars characters open, or other Pixar characters, if you’re interested. 
Ding- Yeah, I’m not quite sure Holley quite sees Finn as a mentor, (I guess I’m in the middle between Ding and Tow Mater here) but to me it’s apparent Holley respects him as a more experienced field agent at least. Holley is insecure about being in the technical department but running around like a fiend agent. [spoil]When Finn gets captured in Porta Costa[/spoil], she seems at a loss.

TDIT: It’s not so much a meme as a plot in the Disney RP on Tumblr. Basically, there’s some flashbacks right now between the two films that involve it.

Whoa, did I miss something here? Holley x Z?! My, oh my, there are some wild shippers out there! That has gotta go up there on my list of crazy pairings along with Sally x Red…anybody heard of that one? Sally x Red is totally random and strange but I find it a bit interesting, where as Holley x Z just disturbs me.

Where did Holley and Z come from?! That’s one of this things you just have to laugh at. 
Although, I’m slightly interested in seeing how that would work. LOL.
MissCarrera: I’ve heard of Sally and Red! I think I’ve seen a couple of fics with that pairing, although I’ve never dared to read one. I mean, it’s way out there and most likely never have happened but I can see how some think of it. Sally is really the only one who talks to Red throughout the whole movie, other than Lizzie. But she was just trying to get a look at her “sexy hotrod”. And I can see Sally as really being the only person he’ll “talk” to.
Hahaha, I know, who thinks these things up? I’ve read one of the Sally/Red fics out of curiousity and the whole town started as cars but were transformed into humans. I too actually started to think that it isn’t such a crazy idea and I can imagine just like you said, Sally being the most kind person to him and him having a secret crush on her. I mean we saw them [spoil]teaming up again in Cars 2 when they came out and sprayed the bad guys[/spoil].
Woah, really?! What was the name of that fic? I think I want to read it. And oh yeah, I forgot about that part in the second movie. It reminded me so much of when Red sprayed Lightning in the first movie.

I haven’t seen the film yet, but from what I have seen (clip-wise), I actually like Finn and Holley together. Mater and Holley is really cute, but I prefer the former myself. I don’t know why, I guess I see some sort of chemistry between them. I also love the fanfics that people write about them, and the ones I’ve read are very well written, I must say!

Laugh out loud, fanshipping roleplayers.
I can see that Finn and Holley have chemistry, from the way they knew each other when Holley was first introduced, it seemed as if they have worked together before. Personally, I detect an Abbie/Gibbs (from the TV show NCIS) kind of surrogate father-daughter relationship, but I am also open to the possibility of them becoming lovers. Of course, that throws into question the whole ‘workplace romance’ and ‘conflicts of interest’ thing that goes with the spy game, but I can see story opportunities there!
If anything, they stand a greater chance because they are already colleagues, whereas Mater, much like Lightning was in the first movie, is a newcomer.
So I would love to read some Finn x Holley fanfics, but I’m too lazy to go trawling through Fanfiction. Any good ones you guys can recommend me?
Also, any Sally x Red fanfics to suggest? I support this couple too, because I can see they have a connection, since Sally seems to be Red’s closest friend. But of course, whether they ever were steady (or had a fling) before Lightning came to town is as much open to interpretation as Sally x Mater…

Dents of the Mind is one. It’s a oneshot, and contains a bit of fluff. But it’s very sweet
Collision of the Worlds is another good one. The best part is probably Finn getting drunk XD
They’re really well written and the authors have done a great job of keeping the cars in character.
