I thought so too!!! LOL!!! ![]()
I’ve looked everywhere for pictures and video, but can find none of those sweet, sweet-sounding cakes. drools
Ha-ha. Thanks…? ![]()
rachel - You’re welcome. ![]()
Yeah, I looked all over the Food Network website, but I couldn’t find a thing. Typical. They might upload something in the future, though.

I’m glad [spoil]Finding Nemo[/spoil] won, it was beautiful and well thought-out, but I felt soooooo bad for [spoil]the guy who showed up in front of the judges with blue icing alllll over his shirt and holding his poor little salvaged Mike Wazowski.[/spoil] Kept smiling, though. ![]()
How could I have missed this?? I’ve been so out of touch with t.v. lately (what, with the garbage that’s been airing these days…) I haven’t even bothered tuning in to the Food Network! What time did they air this Food Challenge? I only saw the Dinner Impossible episode when Robert Irvine cooks for Pixar studios. I get excited with these things.
EDIT: Never mind. Found the air date and time myself.
I wanted to see it, but I missed it. Anyone want to tell me the kind of cakes that were presented?
xD
The Star Swordsman - Sure thing! Four Pixar-themed cakes were created, including Finding Nemo, A Bug’s Life, Monster’s, Inc., and Toy Story. Feel free to reveal the spoiler (below) for the answer to which cake won the contest.
[spoil]And the winner is: Finding Nemo![/spoil]

they didn’t do ratatouille because they did the ones with attractions. [spoil]i thought the one with the spinning flik should’ve won. i mean, it was awesome![/spoil]
I’m just a little disappointed that there was no TI cake. Then again, I am a little biased.
And I’m disappointed there was no Ratatouille cake! I mean come on! COME ON~!
Hmmm, sounds like you feel the way I feel.
I caught a rerun of the episode, and [spoil]I was extremely disappointed that the Monsters, Inc. cake didn’t turn out as planned. The original idea was extremely cute[/spoil]. Coming down to the remaining cakes, though, I loved both the Finding Nemo and the Bugs Life cakes equally. I thought it was interesting on how [spoil]the Finding Nemo cake created coral with Marlin in it[/spoil].
Still disappointed there was no Ratatouille cake though… mainly because I wanted to hear one of the chefs yell, “You know what this needs? Saffron! A little saffron would MAKE this!”
I was on vacation at my Uncle’s place, and watched this. It was interesting how some of the designs were so incredibly elaborate, but there didn’t seem to be a design that really seemed to set a good utility of time.
Example: The Toy Story themed cake had a nice layout and the guys put quite a bit of thought into the backgrounds (the detail on Andy’s bed was amazing), but then they didn’t focus on the characters, and ended up with very ‘blase’ forms.
The Bug’s Life cake design was pretty good, and I liked the guy’s plan to really make the characters look good. Of course, his extreme attention-to-detail caused him to not quite work well on the others.
The Monsters Inc tragedy had some good ideas, but of course, cake malfunctions and icing down Sulley’s fur were definite issues.
The Nemo cake I felt worked well, though I was amazed they cited the negative being the cake didn’t work in full 360. But even then, the design worked pretty well.
you can probably get a picture of the cake on google images if you’ve never seen it b4.
I tried google searching for it, but I couldn’t find anything. oh well, guess I’ll try to find it via youtube.
I’ve been looking for images as well because I don’t think this program airs here even though we do have food channel. Haven’t found anything yet.
I tried to find it on Google and I didn’t, but I did find a cake in the shape of WALL-E.
