Dylan Sisson, RenderMan Technical Artist and Davide Pesare, shader writer, will take place at VIEW Conference in Turin (Italy) from 25 to 28 October.
Sisson will examine some of the technical challenges of production at Pixar with several case studies from La Luna and Cars 2, and will show how RenderMan was used to solve these challenges. Dylan will also explore the Courseware, which is now a free resource for the RenderMan community, presenting the latest features in Pixar’s RenderMan Studio and RenderMan for Maya, including progressive re-rendering, physically plausible shading, and more. You’ll learn how you can integrate the same rendering technology into your own Maya workflow and your own productions. With the new Official Courseware, learning Pixar’s RenderMan has never been easier.
While Pesare will hold a workshop titled “RenderMan: Understanding Shading on SIMD architectures” to better fix rendering issues, write faster shaders, achieve new compelling effects, and fully take advantage of object oriented shading.
