Frozen (The Snow Queen)

Dang, even on the Blu-Ray? I know they’ve been cutting back on DVD features for ages, but yeesh…

Yeah. They didn’t even have a commentary, which I was really disappointed to hear.

They did it on purpose. In the fall, they’re releasing a 3-D bluray. They made this one chesaply do everyone will want the 3-D version. They will also release a lot of new merchandise then, mostly baby Anna and Elsa things, and Olaf things. There is also a (RUMOR) of a possible Hans plush.

My 2 favorite characters from this movie: Olaf and Sven.

I don’t get why people are so obsessed over this movie. Personally, I thought the only really good parts were the animation and Olaf.

Villainess: You like Olaf, too? Oh, and he’s such a funny yet lovable snowman.

Evspixarfan2012 - He provided pretty much every funny moment in the movie (aside from Reindeer Are Better than People). He’s kind of pointless, though.

What do you mean he’s kind of pointless? He’s just so funny, nonetheless.

I mean he doesn’t really do anything but make jokes. I’m pretty sure his only contribution is opening the door for Ana, and surely they could have found some other way to open it (she ends up going out a window anyway, if I’m remembering correctly). Honestly, with the way they tie up his melting subplot within like five seconds, he comes across like a late addition.

I mean I like him. I just think they could have tied him in with the plot better.

On a side note, has anyone here seen the Honest Trailer for Frozen?

No, Villainess, I don’t think I’ve seen the Honest Trailer for Frozen yet.

And we all know how Olaf somehow managed to open the door–by using his carrot nose for a key.

I’m not questioning how he opened it, I just think he needed to do something more. It’s kind of like Pascal in Tangled; he doesn’t really do anything to contribute to the plot, just follow the main person around.

Look, I think it’s because both Olaf from Frozen and Pascal from Tangled would be considered as “sidekicks”.

Sidekicks can still contribute to the plot.

And we have a thread over in “Feature Films” for favorite Pixar sidekicks. (Bet you know, I think a lot of the sidekicks are minor characters with rather small roles.)

I did not like the honest trailer. To be honest when they said “the first good Disney musical since Pocahontas”, that made me very annoyed. I hated the rest of the video, possibly due tot he sour mood that comment put me in. What I liked about the movie were Olaf, most of the songs, Anna and Kristoff. They could have done more with Hans(a LOT more) than just a cheap plot twist. And everyone obsessing over Elsa has made her very hard to like for me. I already didn’t love her. Anna is easily my favorite.

So I guess the “Honest” Trailers are not really honest at all! Shame on them…

The point is that they point out all the flaws in a movie. But that comment was not necessary. Pocahontas is not very good, and there have been several Disney musicals since it that are better.

Yeah, well…people should not be complaining about such movies just for the sake of pointing out the so-called “flaws”, in my opinion. The main purpose of viewing such a movie is just to enjoy such a good movie. And I wish people would just stop complaining about Disney films such as this one.

I think it’s fine not to like it, but people dwell too much. If I hate a movie, I say so, and then move on to things I enjoy.

Are you just now referring to the fact that people seem to complain about movies too much these days?
