Glee

One of my favorite shows! I love it! I love the storyline, the music, everything! Also, this show has AMAZING acting, you actually think its the real characters! So, share your thoughts.

P.S. Did anybody LOVE Kurt’s version of Rose’s Turn?

Well, I am a massive fan of Glee! Tonight, I think they are going to show “Home”. :open_mouth: We just finished “The Power of Madonna”.
You must live in the U.S. because I haven’t seen Kurt’s version of Rose’s Turn.
I would love to see it!

My friends are gleeks. I tried to get into it, but I decided that this show is not for me.

On a side note, I think the girl who plays Rachel in Glee is pretty good looking (if you catch my drift).

The show is a kind of guilty pleasure for me. I enjoy watching it, but its horribly cheesy, and more often then not I find myself laughing at the scenes they intend to be emotional.

I enjoy Glee, but like St_Jons, it’s definitely a guilty pleasure. I don’t really know why I like it - I hate musicals and things that come across as being fake, two boxes which Glee ticks massively, but then it’s all balanced up by the amazing character that is Sue Sylvester.

Well, I have to say that I’m a huge gleek.

I love the songs they sing, and I just…love it. In fact, I’m watching the finale of season 1 right now. =)

Kurt and Quinn are my favorite characters. =)
Oh, and Harry Shum, Jr., aka, Mike Chang.

It started out as a guilty pleasure for me because the premises are cliche. Characters falling in love at first song, rag-tag group, girl wants boy. But I initially watched it for Lea Michele, who was one of the greatest Broadway performers I’ve seen (on YouTube) in the play Spring Awakening.

But the series just knew how to mature. The plot gradually departed from cliche execution, the characters (while being themselves) developed, the auto-tunes lessened, the singers improved, glossy aspects dissipated while staying optimistic. There are so many heartwarming moments, some forced, many well-executed and empathetic. And they make the mundane, mainstream songs, vocally powerful. And it was not just mainstream music they sing, it is Broadway showtunes, the real songs that showcase the vocal talent. (Though, I would appreciate it if there was some original songs, which they are trying to do).

The characterizations are well-written: flawed, dislikable, forgivable, likable. Even through the auto-tunes, you definitely hear raw talent. The performance, especially from Lea Michele and Chris Colfer, are believable to amazing.

“Kurt’s Turn” is so far the Best Crowning Moment for Kurt. Believe me, Colfer will become a Broadway performer.

I am glad they are going to avoid casting those mainstream stars (Justin Beiber and, hopefully, Katy Perry) into their show. They are asking Susan Boyle to guest star. That says something right there.

I recently went on a Glee-a-thon with my sister. She’s seen all the episodes already, and finally managed to convince me to watch them, too. I don’t really think she should be watching this show…she’s only 9. But if she’s already seen them, there isn’t much I can do.

Anyway, I’ve only seen the first four episodes so far, but I’ll get around to the rest soon (we have season 1 on DVD). It seems okay, but the way my friends rave about it, I was expecting it to be…I don’t know, better I guess. I have to agree with lizardgirl and St_Jons, it does come off as cheesy at times. I sure hope Carol is right. :stuck_out_tongue: My favorite character so far is Kurt. I don’t like Rachel right now, she’s really whiny and conceited, but I heard she gets better as the show goes on.
