Yesterday, October 29, was the day Glenn McQueen passed away 4 years ago. He was a
supervising animator for A Bug’s Life, Toy Story 2, and Monsters, Inc. as well as an animator for Toy Story.
Finding Nemo was dedicated to Glenn in 2003, and Lightning McQueen from Cars was named after him in his
memory.

Rest in peace, Glenn.
My sincere apologies for posting this a day late. It
didn’t hit me until I was driving home from work tonight. I’m truly
sorry.

Glenn, for everything you have contributed to Pixar, thank
you. You will be missed.

May you rest in
peace, Mr. McQueen. He was a wonderful asset to the Pixar team – it is a horrible loss, yet his memories will
live on.
I still hold true to my hypothesis that the 42 on the diver’s mask
in Finding Nemo is a tribute to Glenn McQeen, as he passed away at the age of
forty-two.
PixarVixen - Don’t be sorry that you were late in posting your
message. The important thing is you posted your condolences, and that’s what matters.
Rest in peace, Glenn
McQueen. To have contributed so much to such a range of Pixar films shows what a valued employee and friend he
must have been.
RIP Glenn McQueen, your work will live on.
Glenn McQueen is one of the many reasons on my list of
“Why I Hate Cancer”, along with Graham Chapman, Jerry Orbach and Roald Dahl.
On the plus side, I
can watch his contributions to great film making and know that, like Leonardo Da Vinci, his work will last for
ages. It’s important we remember people for what they did, rather than how they died.
