For anyone who has a Youtube account, you now have to have a Google account to sign in. You have to merge your e-mail with google so your Youtube account is with them. Your new password will be the Google passward you made. You have to verify your account again. Lucky, your videos and stuff will still be there. Google is getting greedy now, it’s all about money, money, money.
I think google owns rights to youtube, i think they’re trying to get youtube more interlocked in google to stop the pressures with Viacom lashing at them with their hypocricy of copyright infringement. You should see JeepersMedia about all that!
Yeah, I just noticed this! I made a new youtube today – x3Evangelinex3 – it got all weird. Huh.
I have my own youtube as well, SomethingGuy912. You might not like my videos if your not a fan of cursing, danny, or youtube poops.
Hmm, I don’t know what to think of this. The use of the word forcing made me laugh though. I got the image in my mind of google coming into people’s houses and using force!
I noticed that weeks ago. When i couldn’t watch videos on youtube because I didn’t have a google account, i started to get really ticked off. i never use google, and now i gotta sighn up just to use youtube? That’s bogus.
I’ve always had a Google account, so this barely affected me.
I see IV. but I didn’t, so it was kind of annoying when they made it a law that one must register a google account before getting to youtube. it was rediculous.
Ah. I had one before because I use their E-mail service. That’s the only reason I would make an account with it, since it’s a free service.
But is really forcing people to sign up a google account nessecary to watch vids on youtube?
I don’t think so. But they’ll do whatever they can to get money from sponsors. That’s what’s up with the facebook ads as well. But those don’t bother me, personally. It’s funny to watch people over react about the ads. This is a little outrageous.
it bothers me though. I don’t know what my friends think. i’ll ask them.
For the kajillionth time, it’s not for the ads, it’s for the sheer protection of the Youtuber’s safety from Sumner Redstone and Viacom. Go to JeepersMedia all about it, i’m speaking the truth!
Google can’t get enough money from linking google accounts to youtube accounts.
This doesn’t have anything to do with money. Google owns YouTube, they can do whatever they want. It’s not making them more money when they’re just merging two of the assets.
Next thing, they’ll be bring facebook in. It has the same corporate rulers as well.
9009 is right on the money with what i’m going at. They can’t possibly gain assets for extra logins, its just making a stronger web for their customers to be trapped in, so they can trap them, and eat them.
Personally I don’t see what the big deal is. You don’t even have to use Google to make an account. You make it, and never use Google again. Big deal. I’m sorry that they want their trolling to stop.
But, really. Why is this so offensive to you guys?
maybe it’s the fact that its a small nuisance for them to log in twice onto youtube, having to waste another 10 seconds which could’ve been used for to get onto youtube.
Just the principle of it annoys them.
Yeah exactly, 10 seconds. It’s not that long, just be patient.
It’s not so much the wasted time, but the fact they forced the users to do something they don’t want to. People like being given a choice, even if it’s an illusion. But here, it’s like they literally arm-twisted folks into getting a Google account.
I should know, I’m locked out of my Youtube account because now they want me to create a Google one! And this is after I’ve refused their offer many times on this principle of ‘consumer choice’.
It’s like what a restaurant near where I live did. I walk in one day and see a lunch dish going for $9. I ask them, ‘Why is it so expensive?’
They say, ‘We give you a soft drink to go with it.’
‘What if I don’t want a soft drink?’
‘Then you get water.’
‘But can I get the lunch dish for a cheaper price without this dumb drink deal?’
And they go, ‘Sorry, but no.’
Same reasoning. Youtube forces you into a dumb drink deal.
