Google's Hoaxes

Ok, so I was hanging out with my friend and he told me about this thing with google that if you go to the main page and type in “French Military Victories” and hit the I’m Feeling Lucky button than it’ll say [spoil] Did You Mean French Military defeats ?[/spoil] Turns out that there are a bunch of these little tricks that Google has made. Check it out : google’s hoaxes I know it’s Wikipedia, but still really cool. The easter eggs that I’m talking about are close to the bottom. It’ll probably be faster if you went straight to the bottom and then scrolled up.

My personal favorite is all the different google home pages in different languages, but not real languages, like “pirate”, “hacker”, or “Bork bork bork”

Dude! This is hilarious stuff! I agree with you I liked those different languages, they’re pretty cool when you try them out. I also liked the fact that when you’re asked how to get from a location in North America to a location in Europe or Africa, Google Maps included the instruction “Swim across the Atlantic Ocean”. When asked for directions from North America to Australia or to an island in the Pacific Ocean, Google Maps includes the instruction “Kayak across the Pacific Ocean”. (begins supplying for trip across the Pacific Ocean to Hawaii)

Also, I know that YouTube wasn’t orginally from Google, but it apparently said that on two different April Fools Days, all of the videos and the site turned upside down and that when you clicked on a featured video, you would get Rick-rolled! mo, you just made my day, thanks a lot, man!

If you type in “Find Chuck Norris” (minus the quotes) and click the “I’m Feeling Lucky” button, well, I won’t ruin the surprise for y’all, but it’s funny in my opinion.

Also, type “elgoog” (again, minus the quotes) and then the “Lucky” button. Then, once you get to the page it takes you to, click on the fish that’s in the lower right corner. You’ll be taken to a “secret” website! Try it out!

Seriously? :open_mouth: I always wondered what that “I Feel Lucky” button was for, thanks for letting us know.
