Does anyone else, besides me, listen to
Gordon Lightfoot? He’s my favorite music artist (after Seal, of course), basically
due to the fact that his works are so very calming, yet toe-tapping, to listen to. As a matter of fact, I’m
listening to him right now.
Genre: American music
My
favorite piece: The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald
I guess his
work would be described as “American” music. It’s not exactly country, yet it’s not bluegrass,
either. Well…if anyone knows, please let me know.
Any other Gordon Lightfoot fans out there?

The technical name for the genre is “Americana”
and yes - The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgeral is one of my all time favorites. I’m such a weather dork. =P

Yes, that’s it: “Americana”. Thanks for reminding me.
Ah heck, who cares if you’re a weather dork? Express your interests with pride! And the song is great,
as well; I’m listening to it now.
Well, a little OT, but since you mentioned him, I like
Seal!
I don’t know who Gordon Lightfoot is, though.

Oh yeah,
Seal is the best.
You don’t know who Gordon Lightfoot is? Oh, goodness.
Let me help you out!

Is he
American? A friend of mine said she recognised his name when I asked her (she knows anything and everything to do
with music,) but he still doesn’t ring a bell for me, even after looking at that website.

He’s Canadian, eh?
That’s probably one of the reasons
why my mom likes his work so much – it’s because he’s Canadian. (Mom lived in Canada for half of her life, so
she’s practically a legal citizen.)
Still doesn’t ring a bell, huh? Hmm. Well, try going to
www.amazon.com and typing in “Gordon Lightfoot” in the Search Engine. I’m sure they’ll list a number
of his albums. If they do, feel free to click on one and listen to a sample of the music from that album. (There
should be sample songs for you to listen to…)
Hope I helped.
Thanks for
that- I recognise him now, and I actually spotted one of his CDs in HMV this morning, after seeing his name and
recognising it.

I’m glad you spotted him.
