Happily N'Ever After

I

saw a tv spot to this. All of the sudden, I have become a little intrested. Not that I want to watch it, but it

does look promising.

Bill:

My bad, I swear I saw “from the creators of Shrek” in one of their TV spots, I guess that threw me off.

Man I hate bein wrong

I did too… confusing,

Hmm…I guess that is slightly more promising. Valiant

wasn’t an amazing film, but it wasn’t bad, per se. I mean, Ricky Gervais was in it, and that’s always a good

thing. I kind of want to support it, because it’s being made by Vanguard, but I kind of don’t, because it does

look similar to Shrek.

Still not

intrested in seeing this. It’s actually based on the fairy tales of The Brother’s Grimm. Go figure. The

animation does look good, but not good enough to get me excited about this movie,

unfortunatly.

Bill’s right - it’s not by

Dreamworks (whose animation is top-notch, unlike this crap.) In the trailers, it says, "From the

producers of Shrek". I could see why that could throw some people off.

The animation looks alright. But it’s too cliched.

And they stole a song from The Corpse Bride for the trailer! (actually I don’t know

that. Theycould’ve gotten permission, but the song is DEFINATELY from CB)

Bill and

Meg - Really? Judging by the trailer, you wouldn’t think it was from Vanguard. Confusing…

AJD08 - No kidding? What part in the trailer did they play the

Corpse Bride music, if I may ask?

As someone said, the animation was actually done by

Vanguard, but it was from the creaters of Shrek. Not the animators, but perhaps the story writers? I’m not sure,

but I also don’t really care.

Did anyone else see it? I saw it. The character designs were cute, but the

story was PATHETIC and the animation was clunky, jerky… and awkward. Ugh, it just made me twitch.

The

‘story’ wasn’t even really a STORY. It was a boring, clunky sequence of events that didn’t teach anyone

anything. And! EVERY character in the film was selfish- including the MAIN character, who was also just a plain

jerk. The humor was also horrible.

I hate to be so harsh, but it really was… a trainwreck. I wouldn’t

even waste five dollars to rent it. I regret the ten I wasted on my theater ticket.

Hog-Hug - Haha – I believe you. I just decided to be safe and didn’t waste my

money on it, thank goodness. I still like Mambo, though… (snigger)

Welcome to the boards, by the way!

MAMBO! I WAS going to say "The only character I

actually LIKED was-" and then realized I had forgotten his name, so just left it out.

He was the

only semi-likable character in the film, but even HE was annoying. His humor wasn’t really funny- he was just

cute. Agh, so depressing. Because I really loved his character design.

In all honesty, the film was so

bad, I don’t even understand how it got the greenlight. So much money was wasted on this film. :frowning:

Oh-

and thanks for the welcome!

Yeah, the Producer…same one who did

Valient, another “train wreck”! :unamused:

Well, Valiant wasn’t nearly the trainwreck Happily N’Ever After was. At

least Valient had an actual story and message. HNA was just a great mound of humorless nothing. :unamused:

Yes, your right –

I have’nt actually seen HNA, but I believe you!

Hog-Hug - Man, that sucks. It’s almost as if they just shoved

out the film so they could show off their characters designs and that was it! A shame, really… :unamused:

And you’re welcome for the welcome! (snigger)

Gasduude - Haha – I

didn’t even bother to go see Valiant. I’ll take your word for it that it was a

“train wreck”, though. :stuck_out_tongue:

Mitch- I honestly think that’s what they did. I think I could

have concocted a better story in an hour, honestly. :unamused: I wish these ‘lesser’

animation companies would actually put some time and real effort into their work. I don’t understand making a

film as poorly as Vanguard and a few others seem to do.

Valiant was alright, kind of cute at moments…

but yeah, I’d say spend your money on better films.

Mitch – Right, as far as I know, it wasn’t as bad as HNA; however the story was one of those

storys where you just don’t care! You know what I mean?

It also got a much

wider release than Happily N’ever After did, which makes it even more of a crime! :unamused:
