Happily N'Ever After

Good day,

everyone.

Is anyone interested in seeing this film? Although it is a DreamWorks production, I am rather

curious about it, even though it doesn’t quite look like my cup of tea.

The film hits theaters January

5th, 2007, and a trailer has already been released along with Charlotte’s Web, I

believe. You can find the official website by way of this link:

Happily N’Ever After

Real original film

title, huh? Enjoy the site, in any case. I would recommend sticking to the “Bad Side” setting – it’s

cooler. :stuck_out_tongue:

I will probably not waste my money on a film like this, except for one thing: I have developed

a certain fondness for Mambo – the little cat creature – for some reason. I may spend my precious bucks just to

see him. :stuck_out_tongue:

Wow, i saw a teaser poster in a theater. i am not to intrest to see this, but i guess we will

wait until the real thing comes out.

The cat thing sounds cool , and i might see

it , only because of the cat and the prince is really stupid and i want to see how long he’ll act so stupid .

I think he dude who play the prince is the guy that plays Kronk from The emperor’s new groove ( not the

show because they always get imitators ) .

Other than that it sounds ok . I’d rather see the bad

side win ( even though they won’t ) , because the good side always wins , and it gets boring after a while .

:unamused:

This looks like a very dumb movie.
I’m not going to see it.

I don’t think I’ll see it since

it doesn’t appeal to me, but still that was mean Groaning. Give a reason, like I did. =/

The Star Swordsman - Yeah, me neither. However, there is no harm

in giving it a try. On the other hand, there is harm in spending extra money that I don’t need to spend…

:unamused:

gottalovepixar - Haha – yeah, you’re right. It’s the same guy who

plays Kronk from The Emperor’s New Groove. The man who voiced Mambo, the cat

creature, also did the voice of Nuka in The Lion King 2: Simba’s Pride, and Wallace

Shawn does the voice of the pig. :stuck_out_tongue:

But yes, I agree. The same old theme gets boring after a while. I’ll

probably just see it so that I can spoof it up later on… (snigger)

Groaning - You know what, I was thinking the

same thing, but didn’t voice it in words. Looks like you did that for me. :stuck_out_tongue:

Fairly Odd

New Yorker - Doesn’t appeal to me either, come to think of it.

Heh – this is great. I

actually kind of wanted to see how many of you guys would vote against it. :stuck_out_tongue:

I t looks kinda unoriginal to me. All of the

sudden, the Shrek movies pop into my head.

The Star Swordsman - Makes sense, as DreamWorks were/are in

charge of the production. In the trailer, it announces "from the creators of

Shrek and Shrek 2…", so there you have it.

But yeah, it does look unoriginal, which is typical. Like I said before, I’ll probably just see it for

Mambo… :stuck_out_tongue:

What is the plot? And has anyone seen the trailer?

I hadn’t even

heard of this film before it was mentioned here, so I had a look at the website, and wasn’t particularly

interested. The stepmother, evil witch woman person thing, screamed ‘evil villain’ way too much, and through

watching the trailer, seems to have no rhyme or reason to her actions. And the similarities between it and Shrek

are way too obvious. It sounds to me as though it’s a back-up story that Dreamworks had for Shrek, and due to

the success of Shrek, wanted to use anyway to make some more big bucks.

The Star Swordsman - If you

go to the website and click on Synopsis/Plot, it will tell you everything.

Ha – yeah, you’re probably right. It sure makes perfect sense, considering

that this is DreamWorks we are talking about here. Perhaps they even wanted to use some of the characters in this

film for Shrek, but didn’t have the chance (or “space”), so they just

created entirely different film for their “deleted” characters? :stuck_out_tongue:

What do you guys feel about the voice cast for this movie?

I really want to see this movie. At first I had hoped

that the plot was based off of a one-act play I acted in/directed in high school, in which different fairy-tale

pairs (Sleeping Beauty/her prince, The Frog Prince/his princess, Cinderella/Prince Charming), all needed marriage

counseling. (I was Cinderella, and my friend and I actually won a school drama award for our directing work. It

was a lot of fun.) Of course, this isn’t the plot, but the plot it has does sound interesting on the

surface.

At one end, I think that the story’s a little overdone (strong-willed Cinderella and friends

take over the traditional fairy-tale world), and yes, to an extent it does seem like a rehashed Shrek plot, but I

am very willing to give this one a shot.

KE - Well, enjoy it and tell

us what you think after you see it. I hits the theaters on the fifth of this month, so you’ll have your chance

soon.

I’m still deciding whether or not I should see this film. I may, just for laughs and the

like…

I guess I’ll wait for reviews. If it sounds convincing enough, I’ll go and see it.

Not looking forword to this

really (as of this date) . It seems like it’s just a rip-off of the Shrek movies. But hey, that’s just my

opinion. Still, the animation looks very cool, and it might actually be good. I’m just not too enthused about

this movie really…

Why does this movie suddenly remind me of Shrek?

Akward.

LightingandSally - I think

that was the point of the movie; although, from what I’ve heard, they did a pretty poor job of

“Shrek-spoofing” it up.

Well, the film just bombed, earning C- ratings by the critics. Of

course, those are just their opinins, but still. I’m not surprised one bit, actually…

Seein that this movie was made by

Dreamworks (creators of Shrek) gives the obvious clue.

Pixfan - It was actually made by Vanguard Animation, the

same studio that did Valiant.
